Yes it was an unmarked change - my mistake. v1 RAW would seem to allow you to strike the flank edge and count it as a rear charge so wheel as much as you likegrahambriggs wrote:Hmm. That's interesting. I'm going off a beta version but with all the changes from v1 marked up. Perhaps all the changes aren't marked. I'll check the v1 tonight.

Its a rear corner Graham. Not an edge. And it can't be a flank corner as they do not existgrahambriggs wrote:Yes it was an unmarked change - my mistake. v1 RAW would seem to allow you to strike the flank edge and count it as a rear charge so wheel as much as you likegrahambriggs wrote:Hmm. Perhaps. But my point was that the rule is so oddly worded that it allows you to hit a flank edge and yet count it as a rear charge, so get to wheel. Clearly, you wouldn't get away with it.philqw78 wrote:Its a rear corner Graham. Not an edge. In one game I charged from at least partly behind onto a rear corner, but my opponent turned to his base 90 degrees to face the base that had contacted it and said that that means it is a flank charge.
It is quite a simple way of doing it, but it makes it very difficult to rear-charge square bases.
One problem with it is if you wheel from within a MU: if he turns 90 to face you, it is not a flank charge, therefore he does not turn to face.
You could define a rear charge as one which contacts the rear edge (not just corner) of an enemy base. I don't think there is a formal definition in V1, what does V2 say about it?
