I came off a bit strong and apologize for that.

Comment: I do note that this is not an inexpensive series to buy. I think what I am saying is that while you can play the Campaign series long after Talonsoft went out of business the same is not true of recent game development. Many games are going to a proprietary form of PBEM play.

I also note that the beta installs were controlled by Slitherine and should they go out of business the regular installs may get disrupted as well.

I am currently concerned about this for a software developer I work for as well. The new move to DDR has some being concerned about what if the developer goes on to something else.

"Enjoy it while you can." I owned a truck and car. Kept them in great condition. Would have enjoyed them for a much longer time than expected but health issues and funds caused me to sell both of them. But they would have still been around after their companies went out of business.

Software companies need to give their customers assurance that in cases like this that something will be out there for them to play thus protecting their investment. Otherwise I know that I would just drop playing computer games of this sort if the outcome is that the game is non-operative after the company is gone. That makes no sense to me ...

And to think we have just been presented with an award for sales achievements and business growth, I best go and check the balance sheets again....... No they were right the company has had its most successful year in its history.
