I'd really love to see T-Tex as open source! It looks avesome on screenshots - considering platform limitations. So I'm pretty sure there'd be more than enough interest. There're still ppl coding for that tiny console. :)

But you could release T-Tex as a rom image so everyone can play it with an emulator. The emulator itself is legal, isn't it?

The GBC requires the Nintendo logo to be on the ROM to work. Unless Nintendo give you permission to use the logo its illegal. Nintendo do not give anyone permission to use their logo. Any ROM not made by Nintendo is illegal. That's just how it is :)

I dont know about ROM images as the GBC programmer left 5 years ago and we have no experience on GBC any more.

nintendo are notouriously strict with their technologies. At my uni we had to sign an NDA with Nintendo because we have access to a brown game cube... not that we ever use it, lol

Hm, some emulators would just report it as an error but the game would still run. It's just a few bytes. Anyway that's not the point. You don't really need to include "N" logo for open source, do you? :) I really hope to see it, since I'm 8bit fan. That'd be probably 1st open source game for consoles/handhelds ever. :)

I don't think so, unless you signed some sort of NDA which describes it and it didn't expire yet. Such code is property of respective author(s)/company, so they've got anything to do w/ it. Besides GBC is retro thing ATM. There's plenty of info around, tutorials, sources, tools, etc. It's not like anything they could care about. Especially that the game never got released... :(

I'm suprised no one hasnt picked it up for release on mobile phones, I've seen lots of GBC/NES/SNES games that never saw the light of day appear on phones.
