The winner will post the results of the game on this tread, will get 1 point for every full 20% win or lose & extra 2 points if you win.

First blood to me!

steve-h8 win, 100% = 7
Ironclad lose, 79% = 3

Cavalry v cavalry battle on my far left flank fought to a stalemate, MF on left held his in rough terrain. In the middle HF started to collapse but on my right MF got the better of him and that’s where the battle was won!

Archie, lose, 77% = 3

My MF advance on right taking hill opposite another hill occupied by his MF with cavalry to right side of hill. My cav attacked to the left of hill isolating this part of his army. The rest of my HF stayed back at this time. The Gallic MF on my left move to outflank me and took my camp at the same time his HF move to attack my centre. My centre held long enough for me to wipe-out his left and move to outflank him… Game over

stockwellpete (Brutus and Cassius) 8/45 beat Archie (Gallic Later Hill Tribes) 53/52.

I think that works out at 7pts to nil, Steve, as Archie inflicted only 18% casualties on me.

I am not making a big fuss or anything but I do find the points system a bit odd for this tournament. Just 2 points for a win, nothing for a draw - but then upto 5 bonus points available linked to losses inflicted on the opponent. Winning a battle will always give you just 7 points, even if you win a battle with out losing a single soldier - but two players would get 5 points each for a drawn battle where nearly everyone had died.

The points differential between these two quite different games would be a measly 2, which doesn't seem quite right to me.

Really, I think that the main bulk of the points should be for the win and the bonus points available should be a secondary consideration. So something like 5 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and then 1 or 2 bonus points available linked to losses (maybe +1 if you lose less than 50% of your army in a winning battle and +1 if you destroy 75% or more of your opponent in a losing game).

You will always get 3 points more than the loser and as you say the winner gets 7. It a fairer way to allocate points you can have good battle and really put up a fight and still gain (0 to 4) points instead of getting none at all for losing a game. Let’s see how it goes then have a talk about it after we have finished the first season!!

When posting your results please leave it to the winner to do and post it as I have shown.
