I think he means white wash on AFVs and winter camo on troops.

US Soldiers had heavy coats and white camo. US vehicles were white washed

I have seen pictures of US Shermans in white and certainly troops with white jackets and helmet covers.

However, there wasn't a lot of action in WF in snow in 44/45 other than the bulge and that snow was unusual and not prepared for.

I'm thinking that kind of texturing could make it very hard to see units when you're playing?

Cheers

I'll have to call a board meeting, but I feel that sending all of our players mad and/or blind looking for white units on a white backdrop might be harmful in the long term... ;)

When I was doing the textures, I did make a snow version of the Sherman and Panther. It led to confusing game play and rapid eyes strain :). Hence the decision not to apply the whitewash.

Pip,

After v1.4 , perhaps adding a download link for Slitherine content that "didn't make the grade" ...
At least this would provide players alternate skins if they so desire... cautioning the eye strain of course
Thanks!

Clickable jump map (minimap), click the minimap to jump camera to that spot.

Hotkey to enlarge minimap (helps us old folks and makes above easier)
Jump on minimap is working now. Dooh!
