This can be very good, i have contact with the russians on several places, even if he retreats i still will be able to destroy a few INF. I haven´t seen any tanks or planes yet. Wonder of he keeps em a secret or he launched an offensive into Persia.

I am sure they will turn up eventually....

nice game! you might consider pushing on Basra and just send one inf or so towards Mosul to engage with the Brit inf there. When Basra falls (likely garrisoned by Americans though by the looks of it, but these will be low of efficiency and entrenchement after being debarked, so should be easy prey with the overwhelming air power present, Iraq is conquered and all Iraqis disappear leaving other forces out of supply.

Your oil levels due to intensive tank and naval moves are rather low so you NEED those oilfields...

This is why you rarely see the Axis pushing hard in North Africa on to the Middle East. Yes, you stand a pretty good chance of taking the oilfields eventually if you put some armor and air into the mix. But you've used a lot of oil and units that could have been used in Russia, and with the success that you've had there, you would be well positioned for a spring offensive going into the Caucasus. As it stands now, your oil levels are low and you won't be restocking many more reserves during the rest of the winter pause because you'll still be pressing forward in Iraq.

Still, I like your chances if you can conserve a little oil. Looks like the Americans will sacrifice several units in the Middle East that could have been used in Torch or Overlord, and the Russians are certainly on the ropes and will have difficulty recovering enough to enter Berlin by summer 1945.

Agree about the oil.

The November 29, 1941 offensive may cost you dear as winter progresses. I'm becoming something of an expert on getting crushed on the eastern front (as axis) and one thing I'm learning is to not pounce at every "perceived" opportunity as winter closes in. Every time I've done so, the Russians have roared back with a vengeance. And sometimes it's a... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dddAi8FF3F4

You are doing very well, but I wonder if being a bit more patient in November might reap you greater rewards come spring time.

Regards, and thanks for sharing this AAR.

Thanks guys for the input. I really liked the starwars clip...he he the best!!!

Pushing on Basra is not a bad idea, the american prescence will probably make it a little bit difficult to take Basra quick, so i think i will head north quick to take Mosul and then head back south to knock out the rest. I have dispatched reinforcement already so i should have enough to resist whatever he decides to throw at me....

Since i am already there, Irak and Persia has almost become a necessity for the Axis, so if i can sweap out the rest and hold the oilfields, i would continue to have an advantage on the russian front for a long time.

Also, i managed to destroy a lot of forces so i shouldn´t have any trouble taking the the caucasus oilfield during summer either.

So my next targets will be, Moscow, stalingrad and leningrad for this summer. If i can take those targets before next winter. I should make it.

Good luck, just be aware that this will give the Americans another 4 or so turns to set up their defences and/or ship in more troops... Also you need to fight the Iraqis in this case instead of them just disappearing at conquest.

Anyway, if you do manage to get Iraq then by all means go for Persia as well, conquering it means no lend-lease through Persia which knocks down Russian production by a significant 15 PPs/turn IIRC.
