I am currently still awaiting an army list from Andy Clarke & Chris Lewis - if anyone knows them can they give them a kick up the arse to get their list in please.

We are, to my knowledge, still an odd number in which case I will play the "bye" team so that everyone gets 4 games in the weekend.

As soon as I have the last list I will post the R&R.

The Runners and Riders
Well, as a mechanism to encourage barbarian armies, that was suitably unsuccessful

In all honesty I never expected it would - it did, however, provide me with information on something I was even more interested in :D

Surely you don't class Sasanids as barbarians? (Shocking Helleno-Roman bias)

I class Sassanids as not Romans!

I was responding to the comment that cut-price legionaries hadn't apparently increased the take up either of Romans using legions or of barbarian foot. Curiously cavalry skill holds sway....

Yup, although the supporting LH and (a few) shooty cavalry were of assistance - I'm sure Ian can tell you better than I.

Lancers were popular at this comp you'll be glad to hear 8)

Phil, these results seem to suggest that the really unlikely choice is any list with only undrilled non-shooting HF/MF. If you can with with one of those it would be doubly impressive.

Certainly means I would not flank march. But the above could, and does with the Irish, do well in the medieval period.
