One wonders what, in an actual battle, the assorted peasant infantry would make of the cream of Korean society and the military seeming to decamp the battlefield at a rate of knots. Would there be a strong chance of them deciding that the battle was lost and leaving.
or you just call it a feigned flight and say thats how fog models it on table and then it becomes perfectly reasonable?

An excellent read as ever. Were you entering stuff into the Battle Chronicler throughout the games?

"this means that each foot BG will only fight 2 dice, reducing massively any chance of failing a CT"

True. But it also massively increases the chance having both foot BGs break ;)

Sheesh no - taking the photos and playing the game is hard enough - lugging round a laptop and updating it every turn would drive everyone concerned nuts!

It can't be much harder than recording all the combat dice ;)

Hammy

Recording your combat dice is easy, either a 3 if elite or 2 if not...

Well I will be at the WIC in Athen. You just need to be lucky in the 1st round or do badly enough to have a chance in the subsequent rounds. ;)

In which case extra credit for being able to remember it so well afterwards.

It was a long shot and it failed in spades :(

Essentially 9 VPs behind with close to identical armies we felt that a wild plan was in order. It was however the first time I have flank marched when moving second and I think I will probably never do that again. Not having the first move means that the other side are all over you in no time flat.

We would have lost even with average combat dice.

Sadly I can still remember the more memorable games from 10 years ago

I fear that this one will stick in the mind for a long time.

I can remember some of my games for quite a long time, but not to the extent of producing deployment maps and detailed reports.

I also know some people who can't remember who they played yesterday, or what they were using!

Well I hope the meemory of that last battle Hammy will spur you on to some revenge games against madaxeman (just an good friendly online/tourney rivalry ) and victory  .Are the double games as enjoyable or more? (looks like loads of fun and less pressure) Do they play as QUICKLY ?

I prefer doubles games because they are a bit more relaxed.

Timewise we play 900 points in 3 1/2 hours and 50%+ of the games complete so probably about the same speed as singles.

One day Hammy-bal will be proud of me ;)
