The ITC is not themed - there are pools of armies.

The pools should eschew excessive fantasy. FoG benefits more than the old rule set from historical-ish.

Mike's criteria for the comp effectively mean the pools have to be wide.

Nik,

I am sure with your brilliance and perserverance that you can devise a suitable method to satisfy Mike's objectives and not ruin the spirit of FoG.

Mike has asked me to forward this to FoG lists.

"We again intend to offer the ITC event for 2010 in Lisbon across 3 ancient rule sets (DBM, DBMM and FOG) if there are sufficient interested entrants. The weekend will be 11 & 12 September 2010.

I sent out a mail at the start of the year and asked for indications of who would attend Lisbon and under what rules. The number of responses at that time was very very low. I hope that this was just wargamers inertia, but with the current economic climate, and the continuing split in the rules cannot discount the possibility that some rule sets may not be viable this year due to too few entries (minimum 6 per rule set). Obviously an early idea is needed of the viable rule sets for teams to book travel at reasonable prices, and to secure all of the local facilities that we need.

Accordingly please would all teams who intend to enter send me an email (mikewbennett@live.com) confirming their entry by the 1st of May ie.captain, country represented, rules set/sets and players names. Please also indicate a second choice rule set if you would be interested in transferring if your preferred rules do not run

I hope that a months notice gives you time to sort out all of the necessary details, given that this should not be a surprise to our regular loyal attendees and that you can understand why we need early confirmations, given the format of the event.

see you all in Lisbon in September

Mike"

Please email Mike even if you have already done so previously.

I'm still very green to competitive FOG, but if a UK team was short a player I think I would be availabe to take part.

Given my newness I wouldn't dream of suggesting I displace someone else, but if the team was one short I would be honoured to take part.

FOG
Italy
USA
Greece have previously registerre dinterest
NZ have previously registerre dinterest
UK have previously registerre dinterest

DBM
France
Greece have previously registerre dinterest
finland have previously registerre dinterest

DBMM
Denmark
Ireland have previously registerre dinterest
UK have previously registerre dinterest

If anyone has sent any entries that I have missed please let me know.

Mike has previously said that he needs a minimum of 6 teams for a rule set to go ahead with a 1st May deadline - so it would be good for any countries that have not yet entered to do so, otherwise this will not run.

Not usually - Mike has previously used a second team to make numbers even, with priority going to the country that won the previous year. However, the ideal is just one team per country.

I can see a Brit team, what about a English team, a Scott's one, one from Wales and so on ? ;)

It has been mooted in the past but I don't think it was very popular with the non Brits.

It would be good to see German, Belgian, French, Spanish and Portugese teams though.

I don't think a Finnish or Irish FoG team is going to happen any time soon though.

So far we have the following volunteers for the Spanish team as gleaned by myself on the Spanish Yahoo forum:

0 players for the team
1 player (not me) as a reserve to cover any last minute drop-outs.

A fair summary of the current level of interest in Spain for FOG (as it stands).

A German team is not likely to happen this year. The pool of traveling players around here isn't that big, still split between DBM, DBMM and FoG and the timing is bad for several of us. Plus some are already saving vacation days or money for Wellington.
