Mea culpa - Pete didn't put a club affiliation down on the list that he sent in, and I thought that he had been playing qua Reigate in times gone by. Maybe it was when he was Nik's doubles partner (or am I dreaming that association?)

Who does Pete bat for?

Pete doesn't bat for anybody.

He did play with the Khoregate expeditionary force at Campaign for a number of years though.

I would suggest either [Blank] or "Independent"

Pete ends up as "Wirral" at Britcon and the Challenge. He is definitely not a Reigate player (unless playing doubles with Nik).

Wirral it is then. If I leave it blank the system assumes that he is team-mate of Duncan Thompson, who is also non club-affiliated, and this could affect the random draw.

I heard on Monday that Simon Hall has been very ill indeed, and is bed-bound on doctors' orders over the weekend. Nik G and RB-S have kindly agreed to step in as umpires, and have already been cooking up plans for dealing with anyone asking naughty questions.

Best wishes to Simon for a speedy recovery!

Dino Monticoli is stepping into the Swifter as Simon's reserve. He will be using Median, an average kind of army!

Another excellent weekend, thanks to everyone involved. I echo Pete's call. Usually there is too much time to visit the trade stands, but another 15 minutes this weekend would have been just right. The demonstration games also looked quite interesting.

Once again at a competition I had very agreeable opponents. If any non-competition FoG players are thinking of having a go at a tournament and have heard unfortunate stories about unpleasant opposition, don't be put off. The current group of FoG players in the UK are a really excellent bunch of people.

Also my personal thanks to Roger and Ian Stewart who took umpire rulings that they disagreed with in a most gentlemanly manner - especially Roger to whom I went back to 5 minutes later to say I'd got it wrong to his disadvantage

Agreed on all points, esp the organisation. The speed of the draw, esp on Saturday lunchtime, certainly caught me out.

Maybe some of the traders would like to arrive early on Sunday, when there were quite a few people milling around but only the B&B (and the food stalls!) doing business.

Anyone know what Pete Reilly's list/tactics were? I didn't expect the Ancient Britons to do well in an environment full of Super Skilled Legionaries. Was he using a cunning plan?
