I haven't tried this yet but here is one way to see if the AI just manufacture more units depending on the more you kill

Fog of War (Disable)
setany iseeyou 1 – Only for the current player.

Or just liberally use recon planes and recognize reinforcement zones on maps.

I've actually enjoyed the reinforcement zones; they introduce a random element and force you to scramble and adapt your plans (eg battle of the ebro)

It doesn't. If you look at the LUA files, all AI reinforcements are scripted, by turn.
Any randomization is selecting one of a set of locations and/or one of a block of units.

They scenario designer determines what units the AI gets and when.
The variations are constrained by what in written in the LUA scripts.
There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.
