surprised more players don't use the Arrogant negative trait?
Re: question about "Industry Connections" trait
I have but not on maps/DLCs that I am not familiar with. It is more annoying than difficult. But with the 2 default points, Denied Artillery, Slow Modernization, and Trench Slog, you have 9 trait points. That "buys" a lot of positive traits. How many more do you really need before it gets silly?scorehouse wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 2:54 am surprised more players don't use the Arrogant negative trait?
In AO40 there are few if any new aircraft that become available that you can't already upgrade to in '39. So I have used BOTH Denied Arillery and Air Force. Now I had 12 trait points and I discovered that seemed a little crazy. Now I do Denied Air Force in '40 but not Denied Artillery. This allows me to upgrade and buy all the artillery that I'll likely need for the rest of the war. I upgrade my 203mm to 21 cm so I needn't worry about running out of supply or having it take losses. In AO43 I am considering upgrading again possibly and choosing Denied Air once more since Slow Modernization will be a nightmare when all the '43 model infantry become available.

Did you mean AO41 and AO40 instead of AO40 and AO39? I'd think you'd want the Bf109F upgrade for the invasion of Britain? There are no fighter upgrades in AO41 and the Ju87 and Bf110 upgrades are minimal compared to the 1940 versions. I'll convert my Bf110 squadrons to the Bf109Z and the Beaufighter anyway, so I have used Denied Airforce in AO41.adiekmann wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 3:54 am In AO40 there are few if any new aircraft that become available that you can't already upgrade to in '39. Maybe I'll do both "denied" traits and skip Trench Slog and SM with Kursk on the horizon...
We'll have to see what we get for AO43. Slow Modernization would be a pain with all of the infantry in my cores (14 minimum by the end of AO42), so my infantry might take the entire DLC to upgrade. Which, truth be told, aligns well with real life (and games like the Hearts of Iron series where upgrades proceeded slowly as you fabricated the weapons systems...).

I agree.
Better to do denied Airforce in 41.

No. The 109F isn't available for most of '40. Yes, I miss it a little in BofB but by then I have captured planes that I can utilize (Spitefire, Hurricane, and the French D.520 I think its called) that suffice for those few maps. Plus, I still usually use Anti-Air Veteran and thus one or two AA units to great effect. Not to mention you have two great fighter heroes by then in Galland and Bär (the latter of the two whom I equip with a No Retaliation hero and Hurricane for its greater Air Attack rating). After that, you have the Greek/Albanian maps that don't require much if any air units. So no, I can manage just fine without it for '40. Starting in AO39 I begin to load up on additional fighters and rotate them throughout '39 and '40 so I have at least 6 fighters and I deploy them all in that 2nd BofB scenario with all the naval action. Yes, you could do without Denied Air Force in '41 if you upgraded in "40, but I do it then instead for the reasons I just explained. I also don't use AA Veteran anymore starting in '41 because my flight of fighters is buff enough and many maps in '41 the Red Air Force is absent/destroyed, so you're only deploying a handful of bombers or because of weather no aircraft at all.Panzer73 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 9:50 amDid you mean AO41 and AO40 instead of AO40 and AO39?
