I just finished the campaign and had a great time playing it. Some things that stood out to me:
  • I liked that there were narrative explanations for our CP limit contracting. Like when Grunion the Gullible Intel Officer (I can't remember his name) takes over and turns out not to be Wagner's equal in logistics, or the disordered retreat from Moscow. It took a thing that I find normally felt bad in PzC1 - arbitrary shifting of CP limits - and made it still painful but something I was excited to work within. Apparently I need a compelling backstory to have fun.
  • I really enjoyed the muddy slog toward Moscow. It forced me to look again at movement limits and different movement types and modify my attack style to work with the units that could make a credible offense. It also put the brakes on big encirclements and lots of captures, which I enjoyed. And it made me so grateful for the few days of snow at the Mozhaisk Line, when I could reassemble a coherent offensive line!
  • I like the increasing variety and variation in quality in the commendation rewards and interactions. I don't mind much that a lot of the stuff isn't especially competitive with my best equipment.
  • Love the new Infantry hero! Oleh Dir needed some competition :)
