That's OK. You don't have to start straight away yourself, but other player might want to. I need to give everyone as much time as possible to get their 9 games in HMA completed.tyronec wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:35 amHMA - personally I would prefer not to have it brought forwards. Have only just purchased the game and would like to have a few days to try it out before selecting armies. At the moment play in HMA is scheduled to start on Monday 15th February, but if I can bring it forward a few days so that players can get going next weekend then I will. It depends on the speed of recruitment.

Classical Antiquity Battle Standoff: Carthage Rome
My general said "He would find a way or make one!" I said "Are you mad, let's reroll it's better for the hefalumps!"
Since no goat tracks or other viable pass was found a reroll was agreed!

Been there, done that
Though, I must say, I have had a couple of opponents who grimly tried to win on such maps; neither came away with a happy outcome.

Is it possible a pursuer unit not to return to the battlefield until the end of the game?
Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)
Yes, units evading or pursuing off have a small chance of return each turn. It's not very high, so you shouldn't count on them coming back very soon, if ever.GeneralKostas wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:14 am Is it possible a pursuer unit not to return to the battlefield until the end of the game?

So, it can be considered as a missing unit.Karvon wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:27 amYes, units evading or pursuing off have a small chance of return each turn. Evaders are counted as missing, but pursuers aren't IIRC.GeneralKostas wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:35 amSo, it can be considered as a missing unit.Karvon wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:27 amYes, units evading or pursuing off have a small chance of return each turn. Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)
I tried to take a couple turns at work (this machines specs are not quite up to par, but I forgot my laptop home
) on my lunch break, but my game vs joggy crashed during the replay before I had a chance to actually take my turn
Apologies if this causes an error report, I won't be attempting that again here...

There are three kinds of people, those who can count and those who can't.
Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)
Question about the scoring : I thought the score was the one you see during the battle, basically the % of each army routed.
But I noticed reported results using the losses displayed in the very last pop up of the game once it's over, which are usually different numbers.
I don't found anything about this point in the rules.
So... % routed or % losses ?

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)
25% rule at end of which turn? - I think it is counted at the end of the player who started second, so each player has had the same amount of turns before the 25% counts? If so is there a way of knowing in game who has the last turn? I have been playing mirror matches and haven't kept a record of which player went first. I may have ordered some unnecessary panic charges

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)
What are you referring to? The 25% damage you need to inflict on an opponent in a drawn game to get the 2 points? Or the 25% minimum winning margin that you need to achieve at end of any turn to win a match?Kroche wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 6:32 pm 25% rule at end of which turn? - I think it is counted at the end of the player who started second, so each player has had the same amount of turns before the 25% counts? Thank youstockwellpete wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:14 pmWell that can come at the end of any turn. Players don't have to play the same number of turns. At least they didn't the last time that I played, which is ages ago now.

Why the Mede spearmen haven't impact capabilities against the Assyrian-style Heavy Chariots?

Heavy Chariots are counted as "mounted shock troops" (manual 29.4.3/14.2.4)GeneralKostas wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:10 am Why the Mede spearmen haven't impact capabilities against the Assyrian-style Heavy Chariots?

Almost all types of infantry (except deep pike) have their impact POA neglected when they are charging mounted shock troops (see unit details or manual 14.2.1)

Thank you for the quick answer. I didn't remember the heavy chariots in the mounted shock troops list.LuciusSulla wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:17 amHeavy Chariots are counted as "mounted shock troops" (manual 29.4.3/14.2.4)GeneralKostas wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:10 am Why the Mede spearmen haven't impact capabilities against the Assyrian-style Heavy Chariots?
