Delbruck (Daylamis) defeated markleslie (Vikings in Ireland) 60-56. An incredibly close game between two balanced armies. In the end Daylami mobility overcame Viking steadfastness to eek out a victory.

There was a lot of tactical maneuvering and the Irish managed to get many of the dreaded Knights away from the main army and catch the spearmen/irregulars before they could get away. GG and thanks for playing!

Well what a battle. Two very similar armies lined up with the Dacians bringing some warbands to defend a low hill flanked by woods. The Gepids advanced and tempted some rather over enthusiastic German lancers out to defend the left flank. They were quickly and skilfully dispatched within a couple of turns leaving a flanking force to work their way around the wood! In the centre the German lights and Warbands suffered a torrential hail of arrows. It looked very bleak for the Germans, but the Gepids lost patience and came too close to the hill and the warbands charged. The battle swung to and fro and ended a complete mess of units in small groups - no one could remember where the starting line had been. The last few tense turns were really a case of who would get to the magic 60% first. Some very lucky rallies and holds meant the Germans got a very undeserved win. Well played - i love those tense finishes!

Another good game where the scoreline flatters the Gepids. The Gepids spent a lot of the early exchanges weakening the Roman right where the auxilia had been placed next to some woods while the romans rumbled forward. IN the end, superior numbers and more mobility helped the Gepids avoid the really tough Roman foot and pick off weaker targets. GG

This was my last game of the season - thanks to my opponents and to Karvon for putting the show together.

Both armies stood ready, horse archers packing the flanks on either hosts. At the start, the Sassanids seemed poised to win, breaking the left, and beginning to crack the Byz left flank. With the full sassanid line of infantry fully committed, a couple horse archers managed to sneak behind and conduct a flank charge which created a chain route. Both armies spent, though the sassanids could not recover from their main line collapse.
