Div A
desertedfox Thracian (Roman Client) 50 BC - 46 AD allies Roman 24 BC -196 AD defeated rpadilla1988 Byzantine- 493-550

Thx for a GG. It was much closer than the score indicates.

ADJUDICATION
For games not finished, please post a screenshot here on May 7th showing the latest turn with the score in the upper left hand corner clearly visible. If this presents a problem, contact me and I will provide you with my email so you can send me the screenshot. These screenshots will be adjudicated. On May 8th, if I don’t have a screenshot both players will receive 0-0 score.
In Division A there is only one game left while Division C has five games left. Division B now has seven games left. Some of those may be from issues with Chherif who has not responded to me or anyone else in the league since late March. If you have a game with Chherif that has not started or has gone more than a week without a turn, either post here on the Late Medieval result forum or pm me and you will receive a 40-15 (85-15 points) win.

rpadilla1988 - Aragonese 1200-74 with Castillian/Leonese 1200-1319 AD ally
defeats
Lunecastle - Castilian/Leonese 1200-1319 with Aragonese 1200-1274 ally (7-40)
Both armies stood prepared to settle the civil dispute, yet the Aragonese host held better position ready to over take a hill with a small valley to the left. The castillian army did their best to break through the terrain in order to reach the flanks behind the hills, yet the pass was well defended. Many of the castillian host was trapped and engaged, with knights leading the breakthrough, only to find the other end defended too.
Good game Lunecastle!

Division C
gfs26 (Rus 860-959 + Viking 900-1049 AD) defeats DirtyMark (Viking 900-1049AD with French 888-1049AD allies) 41%-15%
---> the final score was [86-15]
An unexpected rally of a shieldwall unit closed the battle when the fight was still very interesting, with a bold Viking/French cavalry flanking move that was dangerous for my very solid winning centre... the battle was probably won anyway, but some more turns would have been fun to play.
Thanks to my opponent for the great battle !

Division A
markleslie Viking (Ireland) 900-1049 AD with Scots allies defeats oscarius Frankish 751-887 with Saxon allies 55-29.
Victory despite certain elements of my army determined to knockoff early.

The problem with Pictish spearmen is that it's full of Picts!

Div B
Zawzgrzyt Georgian 1118-1144 + Seljuq Turkish (West) defeats grahamed Anglo Norman 1072-1154 AD w Welsh allies 46-13 (93-13)
The Georgians surrounded the Anglo Norman troops on three sides. Difficult terrain restricted freedom of action, but the other side suffered in the same way. Part of the army was driven away by the enemy, although without major losses. On the other fronts successes allowed for the final victory. GG.
Last battle in this period, thanks for all games.

Division B
Holien - Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC w/Numidian Defeats Aetius39 - Syracusan 412-281 with Kyrenean Greek allies 62% to 52%
Hannibal decided that he would not fight on the first battlefield and so chose the second. This gave Hannibal a few areas or rough ground on his approach but a long low hill on the Syracusan right flank part of which they could deploy on. Hannibal decided to try and surprise his opponent by making a grab for the hill but his opponent was wiley and saw off that attempt. However in the process of that move Hannibal saw an opportunity to swing his cavalry to the Syracusan left to try and flank and this caused the enemy force to become split, as was Hannibals. In the ensuing move and counter move Hannibal was able to bring his forces to bear just more effectively and only just took the day. Chariots really don't like Elephants!!!
Overall some bad luck for both sides with death of Generals and Elephant loss / morale bombs and a Syracusan unit that double dropped morale at the wrong moment added to a very close battle. If the luck had been slightly in favour of the Syracusan force it would have tipped his way. Rallys kept it going for both sides and Carthage was lucky to have units returned that had been chased off map by Syracusan Cavalry.
A fitting end to the series of games and thank you to my opponents and those running the various parts of the TDC's.

carpenkm Byzantine (Italy) 1050-1071 with Papal 1050-1154 beat Kroche Scots 1050-1154 w Scots (Isles and Highlands) 1050-1319 allies
45 - 20
Byzantine lancers managed to get round the flanks of the line. The Byzantine infantry actually stood a few turns for a change! well played Kroche - finished a bit early - a few more turns may well have swung the battle your way.

Funny map with a lake in the middle. The byzantine arrows were unusually effective this battle and the cav won the day on the flanks - helped by annoying light cav holding up the English knights. Well played - tough battle.

Taibai and Harveylh tied at the top spot. So unless one of the players with a number of games to complete has a storming finish Harveylh could well be our first champion (he beat Taibai in their match 60 - 46). There are a number of players with a lot of games to complete. The tournament finishes on Saturday 7th so get those turns in. We will post what to do regarding adjudications, but please finish games if at all possible and contact me if there are any issues.
PS - please feel free to check the tables and let me know of any corrections (i am far from perfect as you will know if you've played me!)
PPS sorry about an earlier post of this where I had mis scored one of Taibai's matches - so please do check.

It looks like Zawzgrzyt and ray 552 have secured first and second spot respectively despite strong challenges from Random27 and markleslie. Unless something really strange happens i think congratulations are in order. Please try to complete those games less than a week to go!

excellent completion rates here. It looks like iversonjm is unassailable in first place, but SgtOgre wzfcns or heidipie could still get second with big scoring final games. Could be a close one. Please complete you final games as soon as you can. There will be an adjudication process, but we don't want to use it! Deadline is next Saturday 7th May.
