Played a few more turns, had a hunch there was something buggy with the Netherlands and disbanded all their units. The turn they surrendered I was able to draw events again.

Tried a game with allies, got the same bug when netherlands joined. Events would bug.

"CENTRAL POWERS AI WAR PLAN", as the name suggests, of course only toggles the war plans for CP AI. There is no such thing as choose CP warplan for human CP players. I will add this for V12 but this will take some time as of now I'm quite busy with taming the scripts to include the Russian Civil War.

2. Serbian unit efficiency: might be affected by "Typhoid Epidemic" event. Also Serbian units on Austrian hexes won't regenerate efficiency, which I seem to have forgotten to mention in the manual.
3. Troop Quality Loss: only applies to newly built units, not already existing units. Thinking of it, I might get existing units affected too but to a lesser degree.

The netherlands crash was a typo? I tried an entente game (which had the same no event bug draw, so I just used diplo points and intel to destabilize), Got lucky with Romania + Netherlands 70+ influence due to events and went all in. It said 20+ turns for them to join but then wow, they both joined in a single turn around 27. CP mass surrendered and quit turn 35. Phillippe Petain. Is that the best rating you can get?

Yes, the netherlands crash was caused by a typo, you can find a fix for it the new Script Fix thread I've created.

Good luck with the Russian Civil War, it looks very hard for you :(
If we can do something to help you, tell us !
As Unwichtig said, most of the time we already finish the war in 1917 so we will have to slow our win to fully appreciate your job on the Civil War : a separate scenario would be very interesting as a choice (maybe replacing the Nivelle Offensive in 1917) in the menu even if it is really hard to create...
Do you have contacts with the the game creators ? Maybe they can help you on that way :)
I can search contacts for you if you want. It could be pleasant for them to see how we appreciate their game and how you perfected it !

It's been just three weeks since I begun with the Russian Civil War expansion and I have to fix bugs and explain stuff to players while modding at the same time.
And it's not like I would have nothing else to do.

Good evening,

Just completed another single player game, probably the most interesting one I played so far.
Played as Entente vs CP with the AI using the Rupprecht plan. It was extremely balanced and I think I just won it – in some moments I thought all is lost but it went on and on and on…mid 1917 CP surrendered.

Some observations:
1. Unexperienced Entente players should play versus the Rupprecht plan. I found it not just the easiest one compared to Aufmarsch Ost and Schlieffen (and it was still hard!), but it also lead to the most interesting events and dominoeffects (cant mention them all here, but some events I had never seen before seems to be that so much is hidden even after a dozen single player games.)

2. Because of Belgium staying neutral the frontline becomes easier to defend. The German-French Border is full of fortresses and mountains which are easy to defend. You can hold back an offensive on those narrow difficult terrains easily. I defended it until mid 1917 when the CP finally gave up because of a combination of Army exhausted events and several starvation and famine events. CP with zero ports in Belgium and France have long supply routes for their naval units and subs, they never really threatened my sea control in the north sea and or could block the Northsea blockade. The few subs I found in the Atlantic were all on dark red as they were running out of supply I guess.

3. Very abbreviated: Germany attacks Switzerland, Switzerland joins me, Russia pre-emptively sunk the Swedish navy, Sweden joined CP, Bulgaria went early mobilization, joined CP, Austria ceded Transylvania to Romania, Romania joined CP, Italy joined Entente (did not expect that), CP influenced Persia, Persia and Ottoman join CP within 3 turns at early game, Algeria lost to Maghreb revolution, Egypt lost to jihad uprising, multiple Greek events made them join Entente, Portugal joined entente, German sub sinks Lusitania, USA joins Entente.
I ended up fighting swedish army cops in Verona, Nothern Italy.
It all felt like a massive never ending battle in central Europe with a frontline from Luxemburg to bern to Trieste.

4. I almost ran out of men with france and Italy (both dark red), Serbia and Switzerland were even down to zero men left. Only few brits coming in held the line. And I played multiple extra recruiting events (Field hostpitals, reserve recruits, conscription event in 1914 etc.). All countries were totally running out of steam in mid 1917. Then Germany and Austria surrendered in same turn.

5. Major Remark: If the game is to continue until 1922 with Russian revolution, I think the game will almost certainly be finished much earlier due to exhausted armies giving up. I recommend that, if the Russian civil war is selected, all nations start with +25% manpower to have a higher chance to actually get to see what you have moded. Or add extra and more powerful recruiting events. I don’t see a chance that – even though the game was 50/50 balanced all the time – anyone ever makes it 1918 and later as it stands. If someone has the upperhand in 1915 the other side will surrender 1916. If the game is equally balanced both armies have no men left 1917 because they keep clashing against each other. Please take this into account.

6. Minor Remark: I played the “Ignore the submarine threat” event with entente which allows civil activity to continue in the Atlantic. I don’t know if there is a popup window supposed to explain the event or the consequences more in detail like it happens with all other events?! In this case nothing happened. Maybe that’s the plan, just though I d let you know that nothing appears.

7. Minor Remark: Why did Russia choose to attack Sweden preemptively? I had zero impact on that decision. That just happened even though I was controlling them. How about giving the human player the choice to do so in an event? Sinking Swedish fleet preemptively at risk of Sweden joining CP immediately?

8. Thanks again for this MOD. Still enjoying it after so many months of playing now with few MP games ongoing.

5. If Russian Civil War was selected it will break out a few turns after Russian surrender IF the "Soviet Revolution" has happened before. The date does not matter.
The Reds and Whites will continue fighting even if all other nations have surrendered. They are not affected by morale loss due to major nations surrendering.

6. Works as designed.

7. CP AI will invest diplo points to influence Sweden so the event might get triggered. Entente players can invest influence on Sweden so the event chance will be lowered again.

This is most puzzling, something weird must be going on in your match.
Are you trying out any strange strategies or has something unusual happened? Early surrender of Serbia or Belgium?

Try the scriptfix in the attachment and report back.

Ok, so i did the script fix and initially it did seem to work. The replay worked and i could start my move.
This time the game crashed again during my move when i tried to employ to very poor infantry units which were put into my army pool after i have given up the two austrian cities south east of austria to romania.
Last turn i gave transilvania to them hoping to calm them down and making them join the CP. It was the first time i played this event.
Once clicking on the strenght 5 "city defender" in my troop-pool, the game crashed again. I just wanted to deploy them again. that causes the crash - i think.

Short summary of game so far:
I play CP, took aufmarsch ost, i am striking with everything i can to get minsk riga and vilna before december. to support my russian campaign i played the shelling of sevastopol for the first time, and i also gave romania territory to avoid them joining entente. to have even more toops in the east i am not invading serbia but just defending a few hotspots knowing that serbia cannot sustain an offensive anyway. so no country surrendered yet.

My entente opponent seems to be preparing for a massive counteroffensive in the west, but still he is holding back. so no war declaration on switzerland or belgium yet.

1. Can you deploy other units?
2. Are those units that cause the crash "small garrisons"?

I tried it 3 times now, i am sure its them two units, yes! Always crashes when i click to deploy them.

They are from the austrian city and fortress that i ceded to romania previous turn.

Add: Yes, i can deploy any other units. no issues with that. its just these two.

See attachment, it's only a rough guess, so it might not work but it will help to find the source of the crash.

In any case post the log file after the crash.

That's impossible, the log file points to a line that is empty in the scriptfix I just attached.

Either you have uploaded the wrong log file or you applied the scriptfix to the wrong location.

Thats very strange. I am sorry, i dont have an answer for that, i did it again: download the latest scriptfix (from 20:35, says downloaded 3 times now) and copied and replaced it into data folder as usual. and again i get this crashlog after clicking on the small garrison.
sadly its MP, i cant send you savefile.

its the same again, i suppose. no idea. :roll:

i ll try a few things and come back to you if i found something. dont worry about it.

The reason for the crash is that those small garrisons are not properly registered into the internal unit list because they were repatriated by ceding Transylvania to Romania.

Leave the small garrisons untouched and finish the turn as usual, maybe that way they will be registered next turn.

2.
Please go to the following folder:
CTGW/Data/Scripts/game

and right-click on the file called:
game_deployment.lua

choose "properties" and look for "last modified" date entry, it must read "today" or else there's something wrong.

thx, will try now. i ll report back to you.

Checked, it does not read "today". it states the date i installed potzblitz. Can that be true? Zero indication anywhere from todays date.
I will continue now and not deploy any of the units.
Lets see what will happen.
