A close game which left both armies in tatters. More mobility on the Gepid side eventually created enough of a difference between the two. Thanks to Morat for a great game and also props to him for re-setting the game when the first map came up.

The Vikings managed to maneuver so the Dailami attacked in rough but up a hill, while the sides battled to flank. The Vikings' god was stronger that day, and some good rolls/flanks/double teams won the day. GG!

Although the Indian cavalry gained advantage on it's right flank, rough terrain and woods on the Danish left proved enough to stall them. On the Danish right, the mounted Knights managed to quickly break through, thus evading the Indian elephants who in turn broke the Danish ranks. But all the commotion on the wings was merely a sideshow. (Pun? Intended?) The battle was decided in the center where Danish armored spearmen and even Baltic foot simply proved too strong for the Indian infantry.

Thanks for the game, wcfns! You'll get a chance for revenge very soon. In fact not one, but two chances.

Hannibal just wished that this battle had actually taken place and he was not faced with chasing his opponent around the map. At the start his opponent sat in the far left corner next to some woods and refused to move for well over half the game. Even reversing his troops more as Hannibal approached. As Hannibal got closer some skirmishing took place but it was a game of chase me and ultimately Hannibal decided that sticking blunt needles in his eyes was more entertaining than this sorry battle. Congratulations to my opponent for a stunning draw...

Holien - Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC w/Numidian Defeats lydianed - Hebrew 681-586 + Egyptian 664-571 allies 52% to 26%

Hannibal had never fought the Hebrews before and boy was he glad he brought elephants to a Chariot fight. The Hebrew forces were in the ascedancy early on raining arrows down on Hannibals skirmish line and they looked like porcupines. One elephant was also peppered but luckily it stayed composed and managed to engage a chariot. There was an initial brazen charge by one of Hannibals Cavalry which promptly died and caused a big morale drop in it's adjacent friendly units looked bad for a few turns, but ultimately Hannibal was able to push pass the skirmishers and engage elephant on Chariot and drive the Hebrews back. A hill on Hannibals right provided some protection and allowed his left flank to roll up the Hebrews.

A really tough fight and thanks to my opponent who with a bit of luck on the elpehant could have gotten the better of me. Great game.

Just one fight left for the tourney, which is currently underway with Aetius39.

Incredibly close match. My plan, at the start, was to play defensively. Had to default for a plan B after Gort moved over the rough terrain with the cavalry with his cavalry. Originally wanted to play defensively, but that ended pretty quickly once most of our units were engaged a few turns in. My spearmen in the middle, and especially on the right, managed to push up a hill, allowing my left flank to focus mostly on the cavalry. The last few turns were thrilling, just one or two breaks away from defeat.
