On Sunday I will be travelling to Egypt (scouting mission to recruit some Arab Camelry
) and so will be unavailable for 2 weeks.
I'd guess with the hiatus due to Peter's illness that this won't be a problem, however it maybe helpful if someone can maintain the map in my absence. If you are prepared to do this then please PM me and I'll send the excel file to you.
All the best,
Morbio

Lost World Announcement
As we all know Peter is currently resting up after an illness and will have limited time to run the lost World
Myself and Davouthojo will be helping to keep the campaign running until Peter's return
Just want to get some things out in the open ist:
*Both me and Davouthojo intend to still be active players, which of course gives rise to the fact that we will have all the information that normally would not be privy to players.
The most important info, appears to be the cards, who holds then etc.......
I guess what I am asking is if players have strong opinions about whether we can maintain a non biased aproach to playing with some of the inside info that will be available to us... If so, definately let me or Davouthojo know, either in the forum or by PM and we will then need to take stock of our options....
So, other than that, what we need to do is figure out where Peter let off in his bookeeping so the campaign can get back on track.
So for players, at this time:
Please keep warmongering as usual!... For post battle calculations, I have posted the formula in the Battle reports thread but in order to start updatiing data "realtime" it would likly be best for players to post results not only in the thread but also PM myself. I can do the calcs if players are not comfortable with doing so (but still post and PM!)
If any other campaign concerns come up, please Pm Davouthojo or myself (ie if you have a siege, sending a relief army, play a card etc) and we will figure out what needs to be done.
At this time we are still just diving into the spreadsheets and who is taking over exactly what is still be ironed out (they are very big spreadsheets)
Cheers to Peter for getting this campaign going in the first place, the enormity of what he has going on is just becoming apparent after looking at all the things under the hood... Here's to a healthy and quick return!

Re: Lost World Announcement
Thanks to you and Davouthojo for taking over temporarily until Peter is ready to return. It might be an idea to add the battle calculation to the map/rule thread for ease of future reference.TheGrayMouser wrote:As we all know Peter is currently resting up after an illness and will have limited time to run the lost World

The Lost World is a campaign setting for 3e Dungeons and Dragons. It is still in its infancy as it is only now being realized. As the campaigns develop, the information here will be updated. Hopefully on a semi-regular basis. So you're probably wondering... Everyone has their own campaign on the web, what makes this one so special?
Let me try to answer that. First off, it's a familiar world. It's our world. Earth. But far in the future after a great cataclysm that threw humanity back technologically. It also saw the appearance of many other races. Relics from "The Time Before" still survive and many still work. Secondly, I would hope to involve some people in the creation of this campaign world. The biggest chore in creating this world is the amount of research that must be done.

UPDATING ALL RECORDS
End of Spring season, time for some Spring Cleaning!
It was the longest spring season in living memory, with 65 battles, when it should have been less than 55.......
DON'T START ANY MORE BATTLES!!!!
It is hard to follow exactly what is going on, so can every player check their record:
Check the map:
1) Do you have the provinces you should have?
2) Are your current attacks and defends listed? Which are currently being fought, which are waiting for 2nd/3rd battles
3) Are the cities right?
4) In addition, do you have any unresolved sieges?
Suggest you post here rather than PM - will be easier to resolve issues......
When we have this completed, we'll update Morale and Treasury, and also do a full post with new BPs for every second round battle.
If you can calculate these for your own battle results in future and list them on your Battle Report, it will speed things up......
Then we can launch the Summer Maintenance/Diplomacy/PR/Random Events
Anyone dreamed up interesting new random events? List them here......some of them might even be serious.......
Many thanks for your cooperation in our clean-up!

Re: UPDATING ALL RECORDS
ARMENIA (15) has withdrawn from Gedrosie in Hypoxia (10) after losing the first battle
and withdrawn from Chalcidon in the Delian Confederacy (25) after winning the first battle.
Armenia and the Delian Confederacy have become allies and Delian has donated 500
gold pieces to keep me in comfort for the trip home.
Otherwise all ok for me on the map.

Canaan (14) withdraws from Derby, Westralia and from Laphroaig, Clan Braveheart due to bad omens and upheaval at the home front.
Canaan declares it will stay inside the borders of the homeland for the time being and only take defensive action.
Unfortunatly the Real World sometimes dictate the time one can spend on wars on the Internet
Actually, if there is some newcomer itching for fighting in the Lost World it might be better if he take over the reins of Canaan.
Let someone who can take more part get in.

New Englandia was defeated in the second battle of Alsatia (Rhome). After the defeat and orderly withdrawal a delegation from New Englandia approached the great King Maximvs and proposed an alliance between New Englandia and Rhome. The offer was heartily accepted so add an alliance and remove the battle from Rhome (upon confirmation from Maximvs of course!)

Also you rolled bad and have 7 barbarian invasions coming your way, plus your bublettes all turned out to be male spies in drag

Just kidding of course

Just for information - you can't formalise an alliance during the campaigning season it has to await the diplomacy phase that follows the end of the season. At least thats what Peter advised me when I tried to do it.davidfagnand wrote:New Englandia was defeated in the second battle of Alsatia (Rhome). And in other news, please welcome jimcdaw to take the vacant seat of Empire number 6.
His country will be Iowegia, and he will be starting out with all three armies:
Late Seleucid - Rise of Rome
Later Hoplite - Immortal Fire
Late Granadine - Storm of Arrows
In the summer diplomacy season, Iowegia can forge alliances
Please welcome the fresh meatXXXXX, sorry, player.

Get well soon Peter and huge thanks for all of your hard work on this.
Thanks also to DavoutHojo and Greymouser now for stepping in.
The last month or so has not gone well, I lost horribly in one province...and had to 'cut a deal' in my last remaining one.
Will look through names/nations etc and try and catch up with where it should be later today.

Status of Utopia
1. Looking at the map, Tuam is shown as invading Samnium but has been repulsed. Utopia counter-invaded Tuam and won the first battle in Turnacum (I guess) with the following results:
Utopia (Seleucid): 40/44 12,640/4374 WINNER
Tuam (Roman) : 45/43 12,900/5062
I intend to press the assualt but I'm not good at math. Can someone give us our new strengths? With the end of Spring, must the second battle wait till summer? Do we reinforce or use our current strengths?
2. Hypoxia invaded Samnium and won both battles. I'll let Xiccarph post the results. A state of war still exists and a new army is waiting to take Samnium back.
3. A state still exists with Phanagoria and another army is waiting to retake Sambre.
Deeter Magnus of Utopia

tuam 343 : 500*.80*5062/12900 = 157
Carry on wars do not reinforce
All battles that were not completed before Davauthojo posted end of season (and aprox 8 others) are considered to be happening in the summer season in terms of income/national morale calculations
Ill note the change of province, however Morbio has the map files and appears to be on vacation??
Did anyone volunteer to get the map file from him??
BTW, when you do post results of a second battle, please post where it occurs and most importantly, the ap's that were brought into battle, cheers!
