Leci and I are only in the first 1/4 of our game - too soon to tell how it's going to go but he's already killed my transports :x so I'm handicapped.

Jon - rather than have everyone else wait for us, why don't we start the next round now? Hopefully Leci and I can finish quickly and it would allow everyone else to progress. Makes sense?

Leci (allies) has surrendered to me as Germans. In a rare event, German positioning was right for once and after several turns allied casualties were 9 to 3 and wasn't off the beach yet.

One game left to go and we're about 1/3 of the way through.

Congratulations JT. Nice positioning. You're getting (even more) sneaky, clearly...

Thanks JT, No worries. Take your time. Am a little tied up with work, so only have time to get the GJS'44 guys started on June 8th. Will upload Hillman next week... Good luck both!

All done. Levi (Germans) was narrowly beaten by me as allies. A game that was infested with rash moves but we both learnt heaps and are looking forward to the next round!

Final casualty list was sobering. Gilles lost 26 units. Me, the aspiring Burnside, lost 25. A rather pyrrhic victory...

Still, John, a good game - and in the end you took 3 flags. Good stuff. Many thanks.

Congrats gentlemen... Some phenomenal action out there!

So our final standings below...
German to Allied win ratio of 1.3x... Not easy taking 'dem beaches! ;-)
The GJS'44 campaign threw me an unexpected battle, in Buron, where I've got to finish a brand new map, so I'll get our Hillman tourney started first.
You should be able to download round 2 sometime tomorrow, US time...

Hi,
I thought the four maps were going to be available?

I have only seen one map and that is Sword beach.

Originally it was a tourney that would play the maps twice, but I see that is not the case.

You should not tease this way...:)

Hehe, thanks PK... Sorry, you caught my bait a little early, I'm afraid...

The Normany Ninja tourney will have four of our best GJS'44 maps, nicely balanced, but I'm only releasing them one by one... So far, we've played 30 games on Sword... everyone playing everyone else twice... with newcomer, JonCorcuera, kicking most of our asses! ;-)

I'm working up our next map, Hillman, historically balanced as described. Unfortunately, getting June 8th of the GJS'44 campaign prepared and started (and real life, lol) has slowed me up a little... I plan to have Hillman up before the weekend. Would you like to join the tourney?

If you just want to get stuck in and play the maps, click here -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=39434&p=377747#p377746

Have fun!

Our second round, Hillman Battery, is ready to play...

Both sides start with 38 units (there's no force selection and no random reinforcement, so everybody gets the same; it's all down to your positioning and tactics).
Both sides can deploy pretty much anywhere that's logical (Germans in the fortifications or the forest; Brits across the entire northern approach).

5 VP flags, 20 turns.
Holder of most flags at the end, wins the game.

How to download the GJS'44 maps into Battle Academy
GottaLove88s wrote:Ok guys,

1. Run BA on your Mac, PC or iPad
2. If you do not already have GJS'44 Tournaments on your system, skip ahead to Step 8
3. Choose Multiplayer (at the bottom)
4. Log in to Multiplayer as usual
5. Choose the My Challenges tab (at the top) then press New Challenge
6. Select a GJS'44 Open Tourney scenario and then Delete Campaign (bottom right)
7. Press X until you get back to BA start screen
8. Choose Campaigns (at the bottom)
9. Choose Download Community Scenarios (at the top)
10. Choose Download a Campaign Package from the Internet (top right)
11. Type http://bit.ly/gjs44tourney into the URL box
12. Click the green tick
13. Back at the campaigns list, select "GJS44 v1.22 Tournament" and click Download the Selected Campaign (bottom centre)
14. This should download everything that you need
15. Press X until you get back to the BA start screen and choose Multiplayer
16. Log in to Multiplayer as usual
17. Either go to the My Challenges tab and click the New Challenge arrow. This list will now show the GJS'44 v1.22 Tournament Scenarios... GJS'44 Open Tourney: Hillman
18. Or go to the Accept Challenges tab and click the scenario that you're supposed to be fighting (if your opponent has already setup your game)

After all that, you can play GJS'44 on any platform... Phew!!
Totally awesome instructional vid by fellow gamer IDjester, explaining how to download and setup GJS'44... Thanks mate. NICE! :D

Thanks Jon - have issued seven challenges with me as Allies, password Hillman. That's enough to get us started, although I won't gain the German insights for awhile (except by blundering into them, of course!)

I've released the Hillman tourney map this evening.

I have the 7 of us below in the tourney.
Please reconfirm that you're in and have time to play.
If anyone drops out, I'll take their place.
I'll setup our started/finished/results tables by tomorrow.

Meanwhile, feel free to post starts/finishes, in this format...

HILLMAN STARTED - K9mike (Brits) v Joncorcuera (Germans)
or
HILLMAN FINISHED - Leci (Germans) v GottaLove88s (Brits) - German win

See you in Hillman Gentlemen!
:-)

Hi Jon - they're coming up as "Unknown Custom Scenario". I can't pick up. Did you delete the old campaign and reload as per GL88's guidance above?
