Battle Report Autumn 1025
Turk1964(Hamnidads)37/36 DRAW Tophat(Byzantine)41/38
Tophat lost 1 Field Commander
Turk had an Inspired Commander
Well what a battle!!! It started with the Hamnidads in a good position on a rocky hill top and the Byzantines deployed evenly across the field. The hamys didnt want to give up there vantage point and decided to attempt to fill the Byzantines with arrows from their hilltop vantage point.Byzantines wernt to keen on attacking up hill so after 10 turns of missile fire the hamys decided enough was enough and down they came.Well what happened next can only described as chaos as anarchy caused engagments that wernt planned. Pretty soon all troops were involved in the melee and casualties were heavy on both sides. When the dust had settled niether side could claim victory so a truce was called and the battle ended in a draw. Well played Tophat the game was even all the way through and i thought you had me near the end

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
Tiavals(Abbasids) 37/40 vs Aristides(Ghaznavids) 41/40
Aristides lost his camp.
Don't know about the commanders, maybe Aristides knows about them.
It was a strange battle for sure. It slowly came to a point where Aristides was about to win, but he couldn't get any points over several turns, during which I gained enough to ultimately win.

Autumn 1025 Battle Report
Yet another invader of our lands pushed back across the border,
this time the Arabs where victorious by the skin on their fingers.
Lord and King of Chaldia sacrificed seven lambs and a frog to appease
his great god and give thanks for the narrow victory.
iandavidsmith (Chaldia) 35/37
defeated
Tiavals (Antiocheia) 35/34 , lost sub general (Tiavals to confirm)
A close game all the way until the end , trading break points up to
the very end , a mass rally on the arabs side made the difference
in the end , brilliant game , need a manicure now ,have no fingernails
left
cheers
Ian

I thought u lost ur c-in-c, as I was looking to target him the last few turns. I cannot see him in the last replay but there r 1 or 2 hexes i cant see...

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
He wasn't on my map, that's for sure. Either you killed him or he fled off screen. Let's assume you killed him. He was a normal commander, right?Aristides wrote:The same thing happened in all my games - the dice are so cyclical.Tiavals wrote:Tiavals(Abbasids) 37/40 vs Aristides(Ghaznavids) 41/40

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
I think he was over down on my right flank, b-cos i remember feeling vaguely smug that so many pts of lancer cavalry and a leader were caught up in chasing a few cheap LH while I was winning elsewhere - obviously my smugness was soon wiped from my face. I honestly don't know whether he was Field or not. I'll trust your memory on that one.
Oh, K, I took the field.

Autumn 1025 Battle Report
The 2nd Battle of the Antiocheia wars ended a little more
brutally for the attackers this time taking heavy Casulties
in the opening cavalry skirmish of the battle. King Chaldia
gives praise to the Gods and promptly orders his wife 10 lashes
on the buttock given by a skimpy clad maiden girl.
Any excuse
iandavidsmith (Chaldia) 18/37 lost sub general
defeated
Tophat (Antiocheia) 39/37 , lost sub general (Tophat to confirm)
A good battle , Tophat was unfortuant to loose his cavalry early but was able to
put up a good fight with his superior Dailami infantry at the end.
cheers

Yes sub commander met a swift end....then again so did his cavalry. A true butt stomping this was and my shattered remnants skulk back to our province once again.

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
Yes a total thrashing to the Hammys who had nothing to counter the Well disciplined Drilled Lancers . It was a massacre to say the least and all commanders have been Flayed and their skins Nailed to the City gates.

Am I right in thinking that macsen vs. Aristides is the last result we are waiting for? Not hassling, just checking that I have a handle on current events!

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
Macs and I are in the thick of it with main battle lines joined - shouldn't be too long, one way or the other.

Re: To Tame a Land Redux!
Aris. has beaten Macs. 46/42 to 4/40.
Macs had a Field Sub rout and I was present on the field.
Macs had some terrible dice, it must be said.
