- All battles (whether Conquests or Raids) take the form of:
- Custom Battle
- 24 turns
- Remove the Head scenario
- Large (1600 FP) force size (adjusted for Roman factions by their players' current FP Penalties in Conquest battles, as specified above in the respective battles)

- Map type as specified in the rules (and on the map) for each province.
- No map re-rolls will be made.
- The faction routing the enemy or killing the enemy's C-in-C is considered the victor. If neither faction routs the enemy or kills the enemy's C-in-C, it is considered a draw.
- Battle outcome, once resolved, is posted by the winner, or the player having inflicted the most casualties, in a post in the campaign thread.
- Please conclude the battles within a five-week period, i.e., no later than June 24.
- In this fifth round two additional provinces (i.e., three provinces in total) will be taken control of by the victor (if any) in a Conquest battle.
- This will be in addition to any further additional provinces for the victor if killing his enemy C-in-C in the Conquest battle.

=> kronenblatt defeats Stew101 25-16, due to Stew101's C-in-C falling in battle (2nd time).
It was an open contest that could have ended either way (barring C-in-C deaths), but Stewius Usurpius expressed fear of betrayal and treason already in the turn before his body guards turning against him. Good hunch, Stewius!

Re: An Empire in Flames - Campaign II: Ongoing
Uh-oh, FoG2 just deleted my two matches with Aetius39. Our last turns taken were on June 19th. That's a shame as we had some good battles going prior to him going on summer vacation.

Mine too. We’ll see whether we’ll start them all all over again since they’re three of them, or just treat them as non-existent.
How are your and Stew’s two games progressing?

Re: An Empire in Flames - Campaign II: Ongoing
Our barbarian invasion game is into the melee on one flank, while the other wings are maneuvering into advantageous positions (whose remains to be seen lol). The Roman game is close to having a major contact in the main line. Otherwise, mostly just cavalry and light unit skirmishing on the open flank. Some casualties, but not as much as the barbarian invasion game. That should change in a turn or two, heh.kronenblatt wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 1:38 amMine too. Re: An Empire in Flames - Campaign II: Ongoing
Geffalrus and the Romans barely fend off the Goths raiding.....somewhere (I forget). 56-62
Kro dug deep and summoned all his skills to give me quite a thrashing for most of the battle. Were it not for my large supply of cavalry running about rear charging warbands, the contest would have been an easy victory for the Goths and their powerful charges.

Geffalrus (Romans) defeats Stew101 (Goths and Franks) 16-42
Thus ends the turn of what felt like 8 million raid battles.
All that remains is one last conquest battle.

Geffalrus and Stew101: what's the status on this remaining battle?
Conquest: Geffalrus (Romans II with Iazyges allies) attacks Stew101 in Germania Superior (V) from Agri Decumates (VI).

Geffalrus and Stew101 draw it out as night falls thanks to three (THREE!!!!!) router rallies bringing Stew back below 60%. If I could bring the dice RBS uses for this game to Vegas, man I would clean house.

Round V (268-270 AD): Administration
Due to the draw between Geffalrus and Stew101 (in 1a), each of them lose one province to kronenblatt 'the fortunate' and increase their respective total number of times their C-in-C's have fallen in battle by 1. (I choose Italia and Lugdunensis.)
kronenblatt's victory in 3a gives him 5 of Stew101's provinces in total (1 for the victory itself + 2 for being round V + 2 for Stew101's C-in-C having been killed twice in total).
Geffalrus' victories over Gothic raiders in 3b and 4b allows him to (continue to) use Goths as allies and Goths not being allowed to raid him next round.
Stew101 is hereby eliminated from the power struggle after a very promising start early on. Many thanks for participating and hope you enjoyed it, Stew!

Round VI (270-272 AD): attack declarations
Attack declarations (order based on number of controlled provinces and then FPs)
- Aetius39 (9.5 provinces, 1600 FP, 0 C-in-C's fallen in battle): September 16
- Geffalrus (9.5 provinces, 1575 FP, 2 C-in-C's fallen in battle): September 17
- kronenblatt (8.5 provinces, 1550 FP, 0 C-in-C's fallen in battle): September 18
- No Raid attacks by Goths upon any of Geffalrus's provinces are allowed this round.
- The attack declaration should be made in a post in the campaign thread on the forum.
- There are two types of attacks (Conquest and Raid).
- Players are each round required (if possible) to declare one Conquest attack but can decide whether to also declare one Raid attack that round.
- A player’s Conquest and Raid attacks in a round cannot be made upon one and the same Roman faction but must be made upon two different Roman factions.
- Example on how to express an attack declaration:
- Conquest: kronenblatt attacks rs2excelsior's Italia (XIII) from Raetia (VII).
- Raid: Franks attack Germania Inferior (IV) from homelands.
- Raid: Franks attack from Germania Inferior (IV). (this normal raid attack requires Germania Inferior (IV) to have already been successfully raided and thus looted by the Franks.)
- (Sea) Raid: Goths attack Macedonia (XVII) from homelands. (sea raid attacks are always made from Goths' homelands.)
- Date (midnight CET (Rome) time) above indicates deadline, after which opportunity for you to declare attack is forfeited and the player next in line may declare his attack.
- Once you have declared an attack, please PM the player next in line, who will then be free to declare his attack, up to his deadline, so we all don't need to wait for each player's deadline.
