Re: Modern Conflicts 1.85 (RELEASED)

Post by Akkula »

Hello guys, some updates.
I am working on the Turkiye addition to the grand scenario. So far, this would be the mechanics of it:

1- The trigger to "activate" Turkiye should be available after 10 turns (or so) since the start of the game.
2- The condition will be: if any player place a unit adjacent to the Turkiye neutral hexes, then it will trigger a roll dice.
3- Roll dice shall be 50%/50% chance for Turkiye to join NATO or Russia, this is to avoid any preset condition and abusing. So, basically: you want Turkiye to join the war?, good, but at your own risk :P
4- Turkiye will not deploy 100% of its military. So, depending whos side she is taking, the available units will vary. Siding with Russia means deployment of units near Istambul, Ankara and the west coast; siding with NATO will deploy units along the Syrian and Armenian borders.
5- Siding with NATO: this will trigger the Syrian entrance into the war, along with the YPG. So don't think that you will enjoy more free units to wage war against Russia :P

The idea is not to create a "win button" for either side, I just want to add new challenges. You want to trigger Turkiye into the battle?, good, but that's doesnt mean more free units: the roll dice could play against you or you will just open a new front.
Testing will take time, but progress are being made.

Best regards,
Akkula.

That sounds like a decent option actually. And I'm not even convinced which side is more game fun to deal with (speaking with MdC Syrian campaign experience =))

Nop. It's the E-4B Nightwatch, from the picture bondjamesbond post before. A command airpost. The US air force has 4 of them.

Hello everyone, Update 1.9 is up!
Although it does include most the promised additions, it will require some polishing as I really had few time to work on it.
Update 1.95 will address they issues you may find. The reason I rushed the release is because I will be quite busy in the coming weeks/months so I don't want to keep you waiting.
I hope you enjoy this release and don't hesitate to post any feedback you may consider relevant.

Always a pleasure to have another update. A whole new campaign, more assets to create custom scenarii, new armies that join the big brawl of the Europe 2022 scenario ... yeah, very pleasant.

I planned to do another AAR on the updated Europe 2022 grand scenario (but with only one side, the last one was pretty confused since I played both sides), then I remembered that a new turkish campaign will be available with 1.9. Well, my plan have changed. Priority to try new campaign !

Have you modified the North African one, by the way ?

Can't wait to read/see your AAR of the "new" European scenario 8)
About the North African campaign, what do you mean by modifications?. You mean bug corrections?, or something else?

The Campaign screen seems to be bugged, Tutorial and NATO campaign are in the correct place but the Russian and Turkish campaign is no where to be seen.

Looks like a corrupted installation to me.

1.9 starting screen works perfectly fine on my side, both original and ad-hoc localized version. By the look of your screen I'd say gamesetup.htm file (UI folder) went rogue.

Hello Thunderhog,
Weird, I didn't experience that issue in any of my tests. If you already tried a fresh game installation, maybe is related to your display resolution?. Did you try to change it and see what happens?
I'll think about this and see if I can come up with some new ideas.

Greetings, just noticed it, and although small I wanted to point out that there was a typo as you were writing the name of the units. You wrote Green instead of Greek RPG units
