Division A
klayeckles (sassanid + arab bed) defeats Triarii (Arab Bed+ Byzantine) 44 to 0
this is my luckiest outing on record...i was thinking we had a likely draw on our hands, as the arabs, led by a highly capable general were 100% mounted and my persians had some slow weak foot troops. but one wing of the armies began skirmishing, and my persians showed up with more initial firepower. And everything i shot at bled. soon the entire arab right wing was riddled with arrows. i charged a bedouin light into the flanks of an injured cav unit and it unexpectedly broke...leading to another flank attack...and another rout; soon the charge of one light horse had most of the right wing in rout, or engaged. things just went south from there for the arab/byzantines, as the other arab cav faced elephants in my center, and foot troops fully entrenched in enclosures to my right. I chock it up to good fortune, and fully realize my time in the pickle barrel will arrive sometime too. what we both learned is a little more firepower than an opponent can make a big difference in the outcome...the snowball effect!

The map definitely played to my troop types and plowing ahead to melee did the job. Thanks for the match.

I think we missed reporting a result General Shapur (Pictish) defeats Barrold713 (Romans) 50-25
I blame poor lifestyle choices on losing this one.

Division D
Supervark Sassanid Persians 477-590Ad with Haepthalite 350-570AD allies narrowly beat rs2excelsior Byzantine 551- 578 AD 64%-41%
The Persian cavalry had a torrid time against the Byzantines and most of it disappeared off the field at a great rate of knots but did inflict some casualties. it was the Persian elephants that really pulled it off beating up unit after unit of Byzantines eventually carrying the day. The Persian infantry made its way up a small hill on the Persian right flank and happily watched it all unfold from the comfort of their camp chairs. The massed archers shot a few people that came close but there was not a great deal of exertion on their part. A close game which at one point when most of my Cavalry had vanished I thought I would lose. The elephants get extra rations after that. Good game great opponent thanks.

Division D
Supervark Sassanid Persians 477-590AD with Haepthalite 350-570AD allies defeats Garokan Arab Bedouin 300-636 AD with Byzantine allies 579-599AD 53%-22%
The Arabs came roaring forward on the left flank and destroyed nearly all the Persian cavalry there not without some loss the Persians managed to get some good shots in before breaking. Fortunately, the great grey pachyderms were supporting that flank and caused major havoc with the Arab horse. Bursting through the Arab ranks and scattering them before turning back towards the left flank and center. In the centre again the Arabs rushed forward but the Persian infantry was positioned too far back for them to really engage before the elephants on the left flank turned back to help out. The normally supine Persian infantry actually managed to rout some encroaching lightfoot and exploited a hole in the Arab line to get a unit behind. On the right flank, three units of horse archers and some light horse managed to delay the Bedouin lancers and some foot while inflicting heavy casualties though one of the Persian units became too bold and was crushed by front and rear attacks.
A good game against a brave opponent.

Very long front, got the better of his cavalry on my left. One fragmented elephant unit held off his elephants long enough to prevent a collapse of my center. Some lucky routs elsewhere sealed the deal.
