Division E
grumpydaddy845 (Samnite 355-272 BC with Campanian 420-281 BC allies) beat Stew101 (Thessalian 404-352 BC with Greek 460-281BC allies) 61-40
After pushing the Thessalians off the large, rocky hill that dominated the center of the battlefield, The Samnites grew over confident and tried to go head to head with the Greek Hoplites in the flat with little success and only won by their greater numbers.
Thanks to Stew1010 for a good game,
Mike

Division E
DanZanzibar (Arab City 300-633 AD with Sassanid 591-628 AD allies) beat texanotedesco (Arab 312 BC-476 AD) 57-29
The army lists largely pitted my Pre-Islamic Heavy Foot against his Irregular Foot. Despite my opponent using his supporting skirmishers and camelry very well, the edge my infantry had in combat over his medium foot was a tough challenge for Irregular Foot to overcome.
Well played Luca. Best of luck with the rest of your matches.

A very challenging battle that could have gone either way right up until the end. Great match - thanks to my opponenet!

Division C
ahuyton {Greek 460-280 BCE) won against markwatson360 (Lysimachid), 53-21
The Lysimachid pike defended the centre, with a large wood on their flank from which poured medium foot and light troops at regular intervals. My hoplite line advanced and engaged, using a handy hill to turn the other flank. My numbers told and managed to overwhelm the pikes. An interesting and hard fought battle.

Division C
ahuyton (Greek 460-280 BCE) won against MikeMarchant (Roman 199BC with Greek allies), 65-53
A brutal game and should have gone Mike's way as my hoplites vapourised (to use MM's phrase) in the face of veteran hastati and effective medium foot. Somehow I managed to kill enough enemy supporting units and pull off a lucky charge on the last turn, a horseman killing three heavy infantry units with flanking pursuits to win. The fact that I had three fragmented infantry units shows that this epic game could have gone either way. A friendly and hard fought contest.
