Is anyone having difficulty downloading games? I log on easy enough but when I try to download a game it doesn't get passed the message "Please wait.. downloading instance."

Re: Eternal Empire themed event Quarter-finals
Londo has beaten me on the tiebreaker.
I won a match 23/35 vs 21/21
He won a match 26/42 vs 28/23
Thus, I believe I got 12 points and he got 21.
On both matches the Hussites got a good start, dealing about half the enemy's break points in the first few rounds with barely any BPs lost. Then they were overwhelmed quite quickly.
As the winner, he is to make the official score post on the results thread.
The Hussite army performed a lot better on both sides than I thought it would, but the lack of BPs(and units to guard the rear and such) is a big problem for them. As is the lack in true ranged offensive power, or even "basic" offense, since both heavy weapons and knights have big weaknesses many armies can exploit.

Division D
claytonengel - Early Achaemenid Persian (Cyrus) 19/35
beat
mchargmg - Palmyran 35/34
The Palmyrans take a hill early, and hold it for the entire game. Only to eventually succumb to the Persian missile fire.

Londo (Germans) 26/42 vs Tiavals (Hussites) 28/23
Tiavals (Germans) 23/35 vs Londo (Hussites) 21/21
So it will come down to the tie-breaker - as probably every pair of games will. If anyone actually manages to win outright with Hussites, I takes me cap off to them!
Londo, you have won the tie-breaker by 21pts to 12 and you will proceed to the semi-finals. (stockwellpete)

Re: Eternal Empire themed event Quarter-finals
I've put the scores up.
I second what Tiavals said about the limitations of Hussites in FOG. It's very difficult to use them in a way resembling how they fought historically.
If you set up a wagon laager and defend, the enemy will just cheerfully sit back and shoot you to pieces. The Hussites don't have the firepower to win a shooting match. So you have to attack with the halberdiers and cavalry.
What then to do with those damned wagons? I found the best use was to have them trundling around behind the cavalry, trying to protect their backsides. The one good thing about the wagons is that they don't have rear arcs. But really it's quite ridiculous!

Division B
macsen (Hand Maids) 24/38, defeated Lydianed's (Shag Nazis) 37/35.
Some of the Hand Maids went into the woods to collect berries, only to discover Shag Nazis in wait. Quite a bit of slapping went on and the Shag Nazis ran home to their mummies crying about lost berries and mean girls. Else where the battle was a bit of a stalemate, although Lydianed dominated in the anagram battle
cheers
