rpadilla1988 Crusader 1155 W/ Byz allies defeats IMC Danish 1200 W/ Baltic allies 48-4
Don't let the numbers fool you.. I was lucky with some pretty comfortable terrain for crossbowmen.. IMC was a real trooper for bringing the fight to an opponent with the high ground.. GG!
And/ rpadilla1988 Crusader W/Byz allies defeats mcfcivo Crusader W/ Syrian allies 42-11
Again I had good terrain, was able to capitalize on a firing line with the addition of a unit of crossbows on the high ground on the hill directly behind piling on the enemies opposite line. GG!

rpadilla1988 Byzantine 988-1041 defeats Bagatrix1805 Khorasanian W/Dailami allies 42-15
Bagatrix had the option of winning by DQ do to my absence in starting the battle, but was a good man and allowed me the chance to battle. The Byzantine got the upper hand early with their rain of arrows but near the end Bagatrix had found footing on my left.. luckily my troops were able to hold the line. GG!

Division C
principes romanes (Lithuanian 1100-1299 with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283) defeats alexhstandish (Anglo-Irish 1275-1319 with Irish 1260-1319 allies) 61-50
There was a large rough patch in the middle of an otherwise open field. The Lithuanian and Baltic foot of course headed for it. The Anglo-Irish, not being made fully of medium foot, decided to give it at least a modest birth. The armies stared at each other for a bit (we contemplated a draw), before the Lithuanians (or at least, their impetuous Baltic allies) saw an opportunity to charge out from the rough to generate a proper battle.
As expected, the English knights cut through some archers, but the Lithuanaians were able to more or less contain the damage and prevent any victorious knights from rolling up the flanks. Meanwhile, the impact foot - supported by some heavy archery - got the best of the proper infantry fight and was able to wrap up the remnants before the one English knight that had gotten bogged down in a protracted melee could be saved and its harassers beaten up.
It was, indeed, close as the score suggested but also a lot of fun.
Thanks as always to the organizers and all my opponents for the wonderful tournament too!

Division A
markleslie Syro-Canaanite 1207-1100 BC with Egyptian 1149-1069 BC defeats Stones1985 Libyan 1250 to 651 AD with Sea People 67-37.
Turn 2
Plans within plans within plans, none it seems involve a straight up fight.

Turn 10
A very extended pre battle in game redeployment phase comes to an end and the new battle lines are drawn.

https://jeweledthrones.blogspot.com/202 ... ainst.html
The Syrians had the advantage of the hill in the centre which proved pivotal in grinding down the Libyan hard men, opening the way to the very large number of massed archers in the rear.
A crisp salute for the foe, Stones1985, always a tough opponent til the very end.
To the organizers and all those who far too often twarted my will on far too many occasions, salute!

Rockmanbob123 (vikings) defeated excubitor (Byzantines) 66 -35
The Vikings, knowing the technologically advanced Byzantines would bring their excellent horse archers and lancers on a mostly open field....set up with a small forest on their left. As the Byzantines advanced, the Viking Infantry retreated into a infantry line with the forest as the anchor of their left.
The Byzantines did not have a lot of light horse scouts so they did not see the Viking heavy horse hiding in the forest......the Viking infantry feinted a panicked retreating, resulting in the Byzantines attacking faster and in force. The valiant Greek horseman were caught in a double envelopment.....despite admirable fighting by their lancers on the Viking left, once the Byzantine left flank was totally broken defeat was inevitable.
Good fight Giannis!

Game finished as a draw and I was 2 pts ahead on turn 24.
SimonLancaster (Turkish 600 AD) drew with Bagatrix1805 (Khurasanian 821 AD) 54-52.
Thanks for the game.
My other game is also headed the same way probably to turn 24 which is making it slow to complete.

Garokan Parthian 250 BC - 225 AD + Seleucid 166

Close game, who knows where it would have ended if night vision goggles had been invented a little (well alot) earlier or one side had a carrot fetish!
i think all my games are now complete, thanks to the organisers and my opponents, even the ones who failed to lose!
