Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Following a request that I made a while ago, which was only partially fulfilled, I need some new WWI ship Icons. As with the vanilla game, British, German, US and others' ships will be using the same icons, so that I don't have to do any more editing of the files.
Namely, I need something to replace Heavy Cruisers, Light Cruisers and Submarines.
Hopefully someone can help here (I still remember being told that my icon-making skills suck. I am happy to accept this, as long as people are willing to provide better ones.)

To complete the answer to a request made sometime ago by Agustin Malar, here is a Polish Maxim Machine Gun icon, in AA and ground fire variants... Asa bonus, to complensate for the delay, I also include a Polish HW inf icon... I hope you like them!

EDIT: For the Polish Infantry units, see some posts below for the complete pack!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Thanks! The MGs look a bit bright, not only here but also on the other Hungarian and Slovakian icons.
Now imagine to include them to the vanilla campaigns while the German player receives Grenadiere only in 1940. Ouch!
PS: The Polish HW soldiers' position on the icon is somewhat too close to the bottom. You also see there better how the MGs look a bit too pale. See attachment:

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Horst: Your comments are right on the spot... Here is a new version of the Polish HW infantry... May be you can check how it looks now... If this is graphic right (I moved the icon up, darkened it and gave more contrats to the machine gun), I will modify all those maxim guns to look like this (I hope) better looking version... Also. I added a derivative version, the HW_Inf42. As I do not know about any bazooka AT weapon made or projected by the Polish, I added a soldier firing a rifle launched grenade...
PS: a very nice detail to use the native names for the units shown...

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Looks better now, but I would still prefer the black-grey of the British Vickers though.
Native names for all nations are only fair if the player is already compelled by the German infantry names. I still kept it English on the unit description bar for the infantry so you know what the heck of type it is in the purchase screen. While you can use all sorts of letters as unit name, the unit description bar unfortunately doesn’t support them all and will sometimes show these ugly blocks instead.

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Well, this is it, the release of the first complete pack of units for the "Rifleman '39" project. The first country is Poland. Where applicable, the Maxim machine guns were retouched and, I hope improved. You will find eighteen units (Including derivations and variants) for that country armed forces:
- Regular Infantry in '39 and '42 versions
- HW Infantry in '39 and '42 variants, also each one in direct and AA fire modes (4 units)
- Mountain Infantry in '39 and '42 versions
- Engineers also in '39 and '42 variants
- Maxim HMG unit, in direct and AA fire modes
- Cavalry in '39 and '42 versions, each one in mounted and dsimounted modes: 4 cavalry unit variants (Thanks Phcas for the idea!)
- Paratroopers in '39 and '43 variants.
Bridge Enginneers are not included yet, because I want to find some time to finish my new style base icon in order to make a "standard" unit for all countries. So, that type of unit will be uploaded in a separate, muti-national pack sometime in the not so distant future.
The link to download the whole thing: http://www.sendspace.com/file/zx2pcb
I hope you like and enjoy implementing some of those units in the game!
Cheers!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Well done, thanks! Always good to have more variants and options. Although the Poles did use Brit or Soviet gear after 39, the 42 variants are still useful for what-if scenarios and unique or better equipped units.

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Indeed... The '42 polish units included here are a kind of "What If?" units in case that country were not overrun by Germans and Soviets. The historical ones, of course, used British and Soviet equipment.
Thanks for the support!
Thanks for the support!

Ok, in response to a special request for the impending Operation Sealion featured in BNC mod, here is the prototype for the Pzkpfw II mit Schwimmkorper. What do you think about it guys? If someone consider that it should be improved in some way, please feel fre to speak. If, on the other hand, we consider that the icon is correct, it will be the base icon to make its mask and then make the complete unit pack. Also I was thinking about making a "waterline" version of the same vehicle...
Thanks to all the people who contributed with the original idea, and the research stuff!
I hope you like it!

...And this would be the "waterline" version of the same vehicle... The water effects are taken from an icon originally made by Asuser... Thanks to him!

Amazing as always guille!, I have a special request for you: "Guards" or "SE" versions for the soviet marines you made

Ok! I would say that a "SE" version of the Naval Infantry is more appropiate, because "Guards" units were part of the Soviet Army. Any idea about how that new icon should be able to be told apart from the first one?
I'm sorry to hear about your mboard failure... I'm glad you could replace it!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Thanks Guille!. I think maybe a darker color for the uniforms?, different hat/helmet?. bullet belt for all three icon soldiers?, I think that would be very difficult.
What do you think of this rarety?:

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Yes, I think I can try to give the uniforms some slightly different coloration, and to change some weapons and gear... I will think what it can be done...
And that rarity is an self propelled howitzer made by the Finns using a Soviet tank chassis and a special turret mounting a 4,5 in howitzer, which If I don't remember incorrectly, was of British origin. I read that the vehicle was not very successful, but this icon looks great... It would be very nice to try to make it look more "vanilla" in appearance (maybe mating and scaling that turret to a vanilla BT tank hull?) The detail of the tracks and roadwheels of that graphic is excellent! (i do not like the nearly all-black style that the vanilla icons have in that part of the vehicles). I could give it a try if you like...

It would be an honor if you give a try with that BT-42.guille1434 wrote:Yes, I think I can try to give the uniforms some slightly different coloration, and to change some weapons and gear... I will think what it can be done...
