Top players, mid players, lower players all seem to be awaiting official runners and riders. All except one - a true believer in freedom of information.

24 superior Kurrassiers
Simple, not subtle
I get a result one way or the other

LTYW Germans then Simon. I think I took them 2"years ago and they were really fun to play with. You'll probably need a change of underwear in your bag though! Oh and credit to you for getting in on the banter. Seems some folks are just to pro for that.

Actually although he will not admit it, I think Hunter will rather fancy his Spanish army with all that potential superior and elite foot against cuirassiers unless you have some good supporting troops.

Ah it's not the cuirassiers that are the danger - it's the dragoons and guns sniping at one end of the line that's the danger with 4 foot regts sitting on the baseline!

With 24 cuirassiers plus command, artillery and Dragoons I am not sure you can afford 4 foot regiments but maybe that is post Brexit points values!!!

I do know what you are using Don. I am not at all looking forward to facing them again! Thankfully that is most unlikely as you and Simon and John etc will likely create your own little enclave of uber players that us others may only be passported through.quackstheking wrote:But Hunter, I've told you what I'm using!spotteddog wrote:LTYW Germans then Simon. Re: Britcon 2016 12-14 August
I still have one outstanding query, but nothing that will affect the armies used, so here is the R&R:

So, from 18 players we have 14 different armies and 5/6 books represented. D&G is the runaway winner with 10 armies, WoR has 4, C&C has 2, T&T and CoG have 1 each and there's no love for CoE this year.
I'm not sure it's much of a recommendation, but I reckon I've used 11 out of the 14 armies in assorted competitions.

Thanks Kevin.
Some interesting choices there. I've never played Qing before. Nor Caroline. The Swedes were a real eye opener up the club recently once ET got into R. Scary
Surprised at so many LoA and no TYW French.
That Perth club is worth watching fielding nearly a quarter of the basho goers including last years winner, a guy who knows the rules back to front and perhaps the luckiest general I have ever come across. Munro, Riddick and Thomson no less. The Hope lad makes the numbers up there.
Respect to SLM for his Kurassiere club. Malay Matt will be hoping to avoid this one in the draw.Equally SLM will be looking to side step the soap Suds!
Respect too to LM for running the vampire army. I've tried it a couple of times but couldn't get it going right.
Bring it on ........

Re: Britcon 2016 12-14 August
Having never finished outside the top two at Britcon, I must agree with Hunter( well it had to happen sometime) that I am a lucky general. Strangely though, the more I study my opponents armies and plan my tactics in advance I seem to get even luckier. Just spawny I suppose. This year, I suspect, however that my luck will run out and I will pass the baton to the player who most plays down his chances. Hunter Hope, come on down. Be afraid of those Spanish, be very afraid.
