batesmotel (Later Carthaginians) 32/44
iandavidsmith (Pyrrhic) 41/38

The Gauls were sacrificed in the Carthaginian center facing the pikes to allow the rest of the Carthaginian army to attack on both flanks. While the left flank attack turned into more of a diversion and got sucked into the battle in the center, it did manage to sack the Pyrrhic camp and pick off a few points. The decisive wing was the Carthaginian right flank with MF and HF and some cavalry overwhelmed the Pyrrhic MF delaying troops and then crushed the Carthaginian right flank shortly after the Gauls collapsed. Thanks for a good game.

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

US OPEN was very "educationa" and a lot of fun.....
I played just above bottom thirs, which is OK, as I had to forfeit the last game to start my 7 hour drive back soth for our "Cinco De Mayo" Party.
At the time I was ahead 8 points to five in the last game.

The rules changes are significant!

Ulysisgrunt (Pyrrhus in Italy) 43/38
batesmotel(Syracusan) 27/45

The Syracusan center managed to mostly avoid the pikes while Syracusan hoplites, cavalry and medium foot overwhelmed the Pyrrhic left flank. Thanks for the game.

fogman (carthaginians) 23/44 vs iandavidsmith (pyrrhic) 45/38

the carthaginians destroyed the pyrrhic mf and cavalry on both wings then surrounded the mass of pikes in the centre which put up a good fight.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
fogman (romans) 8/38 vs uheng1997 (pyrrhic) 38/38

the pikes prematurely attacked up a hill and were routed.

Rematch result:

Syracus (Deeter) 30/44 vs. Rome (Ulysisgrunt) 38/36

The armies met on an open plain with both ICs manfully fighting each other in the center. A dastardly rear attack by Syracusan infantry settled the affair.

Good game,

Rematch result:

Phyrus (Deeter) 19/40 vs. Rome (batesmotel) 44/37

Bates was plagued throughout by poor dice. All three of his TCs died in battle. On the final turn, he dropped from 25 AP losses to 44 in a stunning display of mass chain routing. The gods were with me this day.

I believe one or two opponents have to issue challenges for me. Please do before I become too busy to respond in a timely manner.
