I can't remember the name of the programme with Ted Rodgers and Dusty Bin years ago but they gave you clues that a mathematician from Bletchley Park would have struggled with. Hunter your clues are right up there.

To be honest, I just wanted to see if someone else was of my vintage so they could remember that.

Actually when testing people for senile dementia, we usually get them to deduct 7 serially from 100, 3-2-1 is a bit too simple.

Would suggest Anglo-Dutch possibly Richards list from last year which I know quite well as it thrashed me (As I didn't have enough cavalry, my new list has enough)

Alasdair, you should petition them to bring back 3-2-1 as by solving Hunter's clues you are obviously a natural to clean up on that programme. Hunter will not however worry about your cavalry for as Corporal Jones, he will just run around shouting "Don't panic."
No clues as to my army for as usual I am slithering until the last minute. Now if only Anglo Dutch could have Tuareg allies.

bletchly park beckons for the horsed one folks. it is indeed Dutch, Anglos, Danish and Scots ........ couldn't resist the temptation to field the Scots as superior. the voices made me do it. do not hold out for john's list - could be bucaneer he's so all at sea at the moment. we're set fair to outpage the early years set with pre britcon banter. that's the gem!

So Intelligence Information gathered so far

I have more than 35 bases that go at least 5 inches per go (ok I'll be honest 39 bases to be exact)
Dave Allen Later Imperial Austrian but for those of you who played my Later Imperial Austrian it won't be anything like mine
Nigel Emsen Scots Covenanters with lots and lots of battlegroups
Hunter Scots-Dutch
Simon Jacobite Scots
Richard Young surely an army from Africa
Don McHugh surely an army from India

If it carries on like this it will be like the London one day event which consisted of scots and more scots

So who left to guess (and my random guesses) my apologies if I am totally wrong or don't know you

Ray Boyles Boyles
Richard Bodley-Scott (Anglo-Dutch)
Charles Masefield (Never get this one right)
Jim Copeland (I'll let Hunter or Jim tell us)
Fredric Bohm
David Parish (TYW German)
Mick Hood (TYW German)
David Redhead (Who knows)
Lynnette Maxim (Surely the Samurai are back, be afraid, be very afraid)
Matthew Poole
Don Avis (Interesting)
Keith Spedding (Swedish)
Byron Emsen (I know as I wrote the list so can't say, but scarey)
Simon LeRay-Meyer (TYW German)
Martin van Tol (Welcome back to the one true rule set after playing fantasy at Rollcall, It has to be an army that he is fluent in the language off so any army in wars of religion or clash of empires)
John Munro (Waiting with bated breath, but to be fair not sure John knows yet, come on Hunter sort him out)
Peter Gregory

we are getting there it will be a great weekend, we are just waiting for john to make his mind up

Cheers

Alasdair

And as Hunter says once the ancient boys realise we are playing the ONE true rule set the better for them

I've just realised no Kevin, surely that's not right

Jim & Mr Dalby are playing ancients of different sorts

Paddy is playing fantasy

Who else are we missing

What do you expect if you hold the event in a pub?

I will be at Britcon but I'm not playing as I've volunteered to help with the organisation. So you can put me down for Toshiba within Excel ally!

Don

I believe it was 32 (of which I was not one, sadly).

Alasdair

Had I read my army list correctly there would have been one more Eastern Association pretending to be Jocks at the London comp...

24 it is fellows. i have johns list in my mit as i type with instructions to covert his copperplate script into something 21st century to send to richard. by the time i have finished the conversion process i can assure you all you will have nothing to fear. hunter.

i also have a good idea what pictman jim copeland will use but better not say as he is the competitive type. can just imagine the screech and smoke as he rockets up my road to tell me aff! clue - he's a fervent nationalist!

Brilliant the tension continues to build and yet another scottish army

I know how you feel I had to convert Paddys 900 point fantasy sorry Napoleonic list hand written in a ditch at Gettysburg to something that looks legal and send to Terry, whether it is legal who knows

OK, I'll play!

Alasdair (I have more than 35 bases that go at least 5 inches per go, ok I'll be honest 39 bases to be exact) - My guess would be Later Louis XIV, 6x4 DtH (possibly 1 as LH) and 5x3 Dragoons. Possible wacky alternative Habsburg Austrian, the army that can have more dragoons than any other.
Dave Allen Later Imperial Austrian - A likely guess. It would be interesting to see how competitve it is in an Open period.
Nigel Emsen Scots Covenanters - he's admitted this so no contest here.
Hunter Scots-Dutch - definitely possible
Simon Jacobite Scots - Since he's posted pictures no prizes for this one!
Richard Young surely an army from Africa - you'd get good odds on this but I suspect Richard may surprise us.
Don McHugh surely an army from India - Fair guess, can't do better

Others:

Ray Boyles, Richard Bodley-Scott, Charles Masefield, Don Avis - all have a good range of armies so could do anything
Jim Copeland - Scotsmen with Rockets from what Hunter said
David Parish - Dave has regularly pulled out a surprise selection and could do again.
Mick Hood - It will probably be mid 17th century and Western European. If there was a prize for most BGs would probably be the runaway winner.
David Redhead (Who knows) - I do so it's not fair to say
Lynnette Maxim (Surely the Samurai are back, be afraid, be very afraid) - Yep, can't disagree with that
Matthew Poole - Probably TYW French
Keith Spedding - Gustavan or Early TYW Swedes
Byron Emsen (I know as I wrote the list so can't say, but scarey) - Not the Undead, surely?
Simon LeRay-Meyer (TYW German) - A pretty safe bet.
Martin van Tol (It has to be an army that he is fluent in the language off so any army in wars of religion or clash of empires) - Or D&G. I wouldn't look outside of those 3 though.
John Munro - Apparently this has now been inscribed onto parchment, we are eagerly awaiting the translation
Fredric Bohm, Peter Gregory - No idea!
