And here is the boast: Yeah! I actually finished a game! Go me! (Actually the only thing I can take credit for is the foresight to deploy the Egyptian defensive spears behind a hidden field of anti-personnel mines. The poor Athenians never realized what happened until their entire front line disordered on impact.)

well we did actually and we chose to drive home rather than sit behind our skirmishers and kiss our butts, if you really wanted we could both be blinking at each other still and waiting for something to happen but that isnt my style I would rather push and loose in style than grind out a mindless draw

True, although there was nothing inherently disadvantageous in your decision to charge home at that point, as we basically had two solid lines facing each other. It was your hideous die rolling at impact that did you in.

Turn 4 and battle is joined - sort of. I charged and caught a couple of LF. But now tangled with 3 Hvy Chariots. So may have not been the best move

Err.. they were Syracusans, which were victorious against the Egyptians (I wouldn't class it as slaughtering), but I did lose to the Egyptians when it came to the real match... although I was somewhat hindered by the 'Open' (not) battlefield.
