The Egyptians scrapped their quality command structure after the first round for raw numbers which allowed them to attrition the Athenians to death.
Egypt 68/84
Athens 81/68

The NA Carthage vs ROTW Athens battle is under way. A nice open field for the Poniii Chariots to gallop about, but not much happening as of turn 2
Re: Companion Cup VI - The glistening of spears
Here is the result: Egypt(NA) 32/78 Syracuse (ROTW) 77/69rexhurley wrote:
I got spanked by iverson i'll leave him to post the boast and result
And here is the boast: Yeah! I actually finished a game! Go me! (Actually the only thing I can take credit for is the foresight to deploy the Egyptian defensive spears behind a hidden field of anti-personnel mines. The poor Athenians never realized what happened until their entire front line disordered on impact.)
Meanwhile, my round one game creeps into turn 20, with Maharg 11 away from break. Almost there...stay on target...stay on target...
Re: Companion Cup VI - The glistening of spears
well we did actually and we chose to drive home rather than sit behind our skirmishers and kiss our butts, if you really wanted we could both be blinking at each other still and waiting for something to happen but that isnt my style I would rather push and loose in style than grind out a mindless drawiversonjm wrote:Here is the result: Egypt(NA) 32/78 Syracuse (ROTW) 77/69rexhurley wrote:

Don't worry, I'm back now and will start later today and have four free days when we can bash one another silly.TheGrayMouser wrote:Anyone heard from Macsen? No responce from him yet to my challenge and I fear for his(and my) wellbeing if Eric gets word we havnt started yet
Re: Companion Cup VI - The glistening of spears
True, although there was nothing inherently disadvantageous in your decision to charge home at that point, as we basically had two solid lines facing each other. It was your hideous die rolling at impact that did you in.rexhurley wrote:

In FOG "Fortune does not always favour the brave". More like "God is on the side of the big dice"rexhurley wrote:Ah the tabletop follows me to digital.....honestly its not a game of dice....grr rightiversonjm wrote:rexhurley wrote:

Re: Companion Cup VI - The glistening of spears
It finally ends on turn 21:
NA Iversonjm (Egyptians) 48/78 v. UK Maharg25 (Athenians) 74/74
The Athenians were finally brought to bay, but did some damage before they went down.

Turn 4 and battle is joined - sort of. I charged and caught a couple of LF. But now tangled with 3 Hvy Chariots. So may have not been the best moveclaymore wrote:The NA Carthage vs ROTW Athens battle is under way. A nice open field for the Poniii Chariots to gallop about, but not much happening as of turn 2

Maybe Pantherboy could loan you his Egyptian in Round 3 if you ask him nicely?claymore wrote:Has anyone noticed that Egypt always wins?
Morbio's Athenians have slaughtered mine and Eric's Egyptians in teamUK's practice games, so it can be done!

Err.. they were Syracusans, which were victorious against the Egyptians (I wouldn't class it as slaughtering), but I did lose to the Egyptians when it came to the real match... although I was somewhat hindered by the 'Open' (not) battlefield.ianiow wrote:Maybe Pantherboy could loan you his Egyptian in Round 3 if you ask him nicely?claymore wrote:Has anyone noticed that Egypt always wins?![]()

Turn 7 and few more Carthage Lights have been carted off the field. The Great Deeter now withdraws his 2 Hvy Char battle-groups.claymore wrote:Turn 4 and battle is joined - sort of.
