It's not just a one-off, it crops up time and again and it's making me not enjoy the game. I have other, deeper-seated issues with FoG that I've tried to get away from by running non-league, vaguely historical campaigns but they crop up time and again. Time for me to move on ;)

OK

If other players don't mind I'll take over.

I have plenty of time on my hand.

Keyth if you can email me the spreadsheet and what else I need to do, I'll pm you my email address.

Again though, it's down to the rest of the players really.

I can also ask if Fedem wishes to take over from you?

Be good

I can take over, probably better me than Akmed the goat whisperer

I agree though, the odds on this game can be just nuts.

Yep i can see where Keyth is comig from as i see it all the time.I just try and play through and hopefully the next game is a better one.Anyway Erics my choice if anyones going to take over. It would be shame for this campaign to come to an end and Eric has run quite a few and is a good mediator  Sorry to see you cant carry on Keyth but i fully understand where your coming from mate and thanks for running a great and enjoyable campaign.

Cheers Turk

H Keyth, sorry to hear that.

I understand you, as I ve been there too not long ago. There are weird things on the game that makes someone willing to throw the towell...
But, well, it also has something that makes you come back.
I hope Dan can fix it to make it more enjoyable in all aspects.

If you want I could take your place commanding your armies if you want to take a rest. I ll try to make my best. Later if you want to return and go on playing I will be glad to give it back.

Thanks for running campaigns and make the game more interesting.

Hi Keyth ,

sorry to hear that , i am starting to see what some of you guys have been saying all along , i either win
10 games in a row or 10 as a defeat (except when i am playing eric then they are all a defeat :-D ).
But i can't live without FoG and i would rather play and loose than not play at all.

These ideas of your campaigns are brilliant , not too complicated and not as linear as a tournament.
I would really love this to continue and hopefully you can come back after a break.

Cheers and many many thanks for the work you have done ,

Hi

I would like macsen to run it and I would like to continue as it a very good concept.

I think Fedem should jump in now and choose his regions and play agst those players who keyth was about to play and or who he has played.

Unfortunately all of his results will now be void.

macsen - jsut pm keyth and include your email address so he can send/attach all that is needed.

Also thanks to keyth for organising this and so many other comps/tourneys. Hoepfully the new system will make him return.

Yep - if someone PMs me I can send you the spreadsheet and a brief overview of what's in there (nothing too daunting!).

Thanks to all the players who have shown interest in the campaigns - good luck to all! And Fedem gets his 'golden ticket' early ;)

Cheers,
Keyth

Well, guess I will let you whoop up on me first...I was playing Keyth at the time...scores/games with him are all invalid, but they tell me you have to start with your commander killed...I think that is only fair!!!

I don't know if it matters but Keyth was the one who had to invite me..so I will let you get your feet under you and wait for your commander to die...then when your ready, let me know!!!

macsen also has my vote to take this over, I think he will keep it running as smoothly as can be expected...THANKS for stepping up.

Keyth, hope to see you back soon when you get that taste (I have been there believe me) of bad dice and strange happenings out of your mouth!!

Keyth,

I'm sorry if our game pushed you over the edge. Indeed, you had very bad luck and I had good luck, but it's only one game.

I had pretty much stopped playing FoG (leagues too competitive and time consuming and pick-up games too uneven) when I noticed your campaign. It was so nicely designed and doable, that I jumped back in only, it seems, to drive you out. I regret that.

Hey Deeter,

It was not just that game - you had me outplayed and I wasn't going to win ;) - so please don't worry. It was the final highlight of the things in FoG that frustrate me!

The fact that you joined the campaign for those reasons tells me that my thinking behind it was well placed! :) I need a FoG holiday but if I've left a campaign structure behind that people like to play then that makes me happy. Good luck and give them hell ;)

Cheers,

Keyth

Thanks for the good times keyth, for both campaigns.

PHLewis (Lysimachids) 41/34 GrudgeBringer (Spartans) 21/32

No camps looted or Commanders killed

Game was closer then the score indicated. Spartans got off to a good start and the Lysimachids had to mount a furious attack to try and catch up. The Spartan's heavy armour and Offensive spear held up and mounted a counter offensive that finally won the day.

It was a good game phlewis played very well...I got lucky

Result

Post by ericdoman1 »

ericdoman1 (Rhoxolanai) 2/44 vs Aristides (Mauryan Indian) 40/40

No commanders lost. Aristides camp was looted.

Just one of those games. I think I was up in most impact and combat scores and in the evens or where Aristides was better I would win most BUT the major factor was As cohesion test rolls, of which he failed so many.

Even the 2 bp loss that I had was down to an lf charging 1 or 2 hexes further than normal.

so the way I understand it...we can use our regular army 3 times this round (season) and on the 4th we have to use our Mercs..is that correct?

We ALL have 4 games to play..right? :?

oK, sorry, but it just isn't getting thru...about the seasons.

I have played 3 games and starting my fourth. As far as I know and understand, it is STILL spring. (now here is where I get confused)

I was under the impression I could use my regular army 3 times each SEASON and then have to use my Merc army. The way I am understanding what you just wrote is..I can use my regular Army as much as I want this whole year (resting in winter and changing armies) EXCEPT 1 time i have to use my mercs in the whole year.

At that point I have to change my Merc army as well as my regular army (or region would be a better word). I wish i could read your answer as I was writing mine...eveybody else seems to get it..but me (DUH)
