The game between myself and Fireknight Barcelona has not been played. My opponent didn't pick up the reroll challenge. He has said he is happy if it is scored as a walkover to me but I don't mind if it is simply scored as Nil - Nil.

Thanks everyone for playing and to Angus for coordinating for us.
- principesromanes (Armenian (Tigranes) 83-69 BC with Pontic 84-47 BC allies) defeats random27 (Hebrew 681-586 BC with Kushite Egyptian 727-656 BC) 50-25

Div A
klayeckles (perg) defeats Aetious39 (spartan) 43 to 18
The pergemene marched on both wings, gaining some rough ground and swampland with their MF. The spartans feinted a refusal on one flank, but the pergs didn't bite, and soon the larger numbers of perg units began to get some flanking positions. The greater number of perg cav units turned some local flanks and threatened the rear. by the time the spartans had brought the soft pergemene units to the sword, it was too late

Carpenkm beat frederic02
42-12
Plenty of maneuvering but the warbands managed to keep together for a change and not get distracted into chasing horse. When the crunch came the Dacians got some early breaks and the irregular foot were no match for them. Well played.

Div B
angusosborne (Roman) 32% losses taken
draws with
w251294748 (Thracian) 21% losses taken
We had a fairly rough battlefield. I deployed with Auxilia on a pair of small difficult hills in the centre with legions on either side. The Thracians deployed cavalry and light horse in the centre and their medium foot and light foot on the right, and they went further right into some woods and a very large difficult hill.
I advanced on the right while the Thracian cavalry withdrew, and they probed on my left. Their foot on the hill was impossible for me to defeat, but after 15 or 16 turns they had a maeuvered an overlap and attacked. At turn 22 the Thracians were in the lead, but not were unlikely to win by nightfall I think.
Congratulations to w251294748 for winning the division!

Very well done, coming in as the lowest ranked player in the division. Obviously the ranking didn't reflect your true abilityprincipesromanes wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 11:33 am Here is a recap of my results for the season in Division B – which I think put me a single point behind random27 for second place:

This Armenian army was fun to play. It was fun to take a bunch of irregular foot into some of these battles, and they did sometimes perform adequately (notably against the phalanxes FireknightBarcelona brought). It’s really the imitation legionaries that I most appreciated as backup for my cataphracts – they are pretty affordable heavy foot. It’s also interesting to play an army that has an abundance of light horse but not medium horse archers. This turned out to be quite a competitive army and I really didn’t know if it would be at the start of the season. It’s biggest weaknesses turned out to be armoured opponents (looking at fredric02’s Romans) and elephants (fredric02’s Romans, Morat’s Carthaginians, FireknightBarcelona's Macedonians and Garokan's Carthaginian allies). Surprisingly, this is also an army that is pretty weak on cavalry. It can only bring three non-cataphract, non-light horse (unless you count the scythed chariot). Since I don’t think I ever brought all that cavalry, even frederic02’s Romans could functionally obtain cavalry superiority. However, all the light horse proved adequate in the horse archer battle with GDod’s Parthians.
- principesromanes (Armenian (Tigranes) 83-69 BC with Pontic 84-47 BC allies) defeats GDod (Parthian 250 BC - 225 AD with Selecuid 166-125 BC allies) 50-25

Game between Morat and anderarcos11. Not finished (indeed very few turns played). No screenshot from the last turn, but if memory serves I'd scored about 5 points to anderarcos11's 2 points. Anderarcos11 may be able to confirm.

Aetius (Byzantines) defeats random27 (Andalusians) 47-8
A lot of bad luck fell upon the Andalusians (probably because they worship the wrong god) and it took only a few turns to rout their army. An early example was a Byzantine cavalry broke a unit early and just wrecked havoc on the Andalusian left, chain reacting several other routs. There were other things too, highly unlucky game for my opponent. Thanks for playing!
