Division B
Nijis (Spanish) defeats markwatson360 (Rus with Pecheneg allies) 63-46.
Both of us fielded a fair amount of heavy infantry but the lines didn't clash outright. Instead, both sides tried to outflank each other with the help of cavalry and skirmishers. It went back and forth a few times before Spaniards finally pulled ahead.

Division D
Swuul (Dailami) beat baldrick52 (Irish Vikings) 61-59
In an extremely hard and close win (baldrick lost with the highest possible score one can lose
) the Dailami nearly succeeded to snatch an early victory, but on last possible moment enough Vikings rallied to put the Dailami score below 40 (the score was IIRC 40-10 at that point). After that it was a massacre, as the Viking heavy infantries began to rip through the Dailami medium infantry. However, the light lancers and the phant (with support from the archers) on the Dailami left held together long enough to force enough Vikings to rout so that the Dailami were able to snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat (Vikings led a couple turns before the end with 59-53, but were unable to make any dailami troops to rout before their right flank finally collapsed). Thank you for quite the see-saw battle. In fact, I would like to ask the admins of the league to call this a Draw, because that is what it was in all but name.

Division D
grumpydaddy845 (Greek 680-461BC) defeated Rob123 (Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202BC with Numidian allies 341-56BC) 52 - 27
Hanny (Hannibal to his friends) got off to a slow start in this one with the Greeks absorbing anything and everything thrown at them with stoic duty. A rampaging elephant later, the Carthaginian center began to sag before finally breaking. The Greeks, lucky till this point, had issues of their own as their right wing folded. But by this point, the damage had been done and the Greeks claimed a glorious victory accompanied by much rejoicing.

Division B
Schweetness101 - Carthaginian 235-146BC with Spanish allies 300-10BC
defeated
desertedfox - Greek 227-146BC with Roman allies 280-220BC
60 - 53
This was an excellent and very close game. Both armies started lined up in the center of the map, facing an irregular shaped hill with a large flat plateau that dominated almost the whole space. The Carthaginians deployed with a weaker left flank of Phoenician foot, and warband and scutarii with elephants and noble cav in reserve on the middle and right, while the Greeks had a long line of thureophoroi, with pikes interspersed in the middle and some triarii on the flanks. Both armies had similar numbers of skirmishers out front. At first, both armies simply marched straight forward, looking like they would meet in the middle. However, the Carthaginians then turned their middle and right 90 degrees to the right and went for a very wide flanking maneuver, while turning their left all the way backwards to deny that side, ultimately cutting that left flank back behind the main line. The warbands, scutarii and ele hit the Greek left and got some nice disruptions early, but a few warband were caught by pikes racing to catch up and caught at disadvantage. You can see that point here:

where the carthaginian right/greek left, and the middle, have met. Throwing the lines a bit off with a sideways maneuver like that, and pikes pushing back warband, opened up flanks on both sides, and the game went to very high casualties. Here is the end state:

Lots of late game pike rallies also almost reversed the outcome, but Carthage managed to pull through.

Swuul (Dailami) beat brenmusik (Welsh) 47-7
Instead of using their numerical superiority to their advantage, the Welsh split their force to two waves. This way the Dailami army not only had superior quality troops at use, but also superior numbers at front. The game was over before the second welsh wave barely had made it to the front. Thanks for the game!
