Division A

harveylh – Khorasanian 821-1003 AD with Arab (Abbasid) 815-835 AD ally defeats MikeC_81 - Viking (Ireland) 780AD with Scots-Irish ally, 52-41.

The Vikings resigned since it appeared the Arabs would win but would require many more turns. A tough game where the battlefield had enough woods to keep the Arab lancers from being a major factor. The heroes were the Arab bowmen on a hill that weakened and disrupted enough Viking spearmen to be the difference. The huscarls almost turned the tide at the end.

There were no results in Division A this week. In Division B General Shapur (Kingdom of Soissons) is on the verge of automatic relegation after losing for a seventh time this week. His only remaining match is against sunnyboy (Hunnic) and he needs a decisive win in it as well as sunnyboy losing his other 3 matches to avoid the drop. sunnyboy just needs 1 more point to be safe. In one of the closest divisions ever in the FOG2DL Najanaja (Roman) has won Division C with a quite modest total of 24 points. Karvon (Germanic Horse Tribes) can also reach 24 points if he wins his last match decisively but Najanaja has 6 wins and Karvon would only have 4. If Karvon loses his last match then DzonVejn (Sassanids) will be the runner-up. At the bottom lydianed (Byzantine) needs 2 points from his last 2 matches to relegate Breogan (Germanic Foot Tribes). In Division D the challenges of Barrold713 (Palmyran) and Ulysisgrunt (Kingdom of Soissons) ended this week leaving phoyle3290 (Lombard) as the only player able to deny MikeMarchant (Ancient British) automatic promotion. phoyle3290 needs to get 14 points from his last 4 matches to do this.

In a very tight contest Najanaja, with his Roman army, has prevailed in Late Antiquity Division C with 6 wins and a draw ahead of Karvon and DzonVejn. Well played Najanaja.

Nosy_Rat (Abbasid) is the new champion of Division A after defeating harveylh (Khorasanian) in the top of the table decider this week. Long-time leader CheAhn (Arab Conquest) finished second just ahead of harveylh. In Division B another win for Geffalrus (Polish) means that he needs to win his last match to deprive long-time leader rbodleyscott (Arab Conquest) of automatic promotion. melm (Andalusian) can also reach 30 points but as he lost to rbodleyscott he cannot finish in top place. At the bottom a win for General Shapur (Arab Conquest) improves his chances of avoiding automatic relegation. In Division C a late run by herm (French) means he will finish second to fikabo (Polish) if he avoids defeat to sunnyboy (Scots). In Division D 2 wins for Garokan (Byzantine) in his last 2 matches sees him finish a creditable fourth in his first season in the FOG2DL.
