Geffalrus (Antigonid) has taken a firm grip on proceedings in Division A with a further 2 wins this week. With the players immediately behind him in the table running out of matches the most likely players to make a late challenge are harveylh (Syracusan) and MikeC_81 (Roman). Geffalrus still has to play MikeC_81 and the result of that match could be decisive in deciding the outcome of this division. At the bottom MorkinTheFree (Pontic) is still looking for his first points after 5 matches. Triarii (Hannibal in Italy) has also lost his first 2 matches. paulmcneil (Galatian) has moved back to the top of the table in Division B after posting his fifth win, but he has now completed all his matches. The best-placed player to take the top spot at the end of the season is herm (Roman) who has 4 straight wins from 4 starts. Morbio (also Roman) is still in a position to challenge for promotion but he suffered a setback this week when losing to bottom-placed Ulysisgrunt (Jewish) in a tight match. fikabo (Jewish) is looking the main threat to current leader edb1815 (Thracian Hellenistic) in Division C with 3 wins from 3 starts. Also likely to feature prominently is veteran batesmotel (Roman) who is unbeaten in 3 starts. At the bottom Rob123 (Roman) and MikeMarchant (Seleucid) desperately need points to move away from the relegation zone. Schweetness101 (Hannibal in Africa) suffered his first defeat of the season in Division D to emerging challenger Questar17 (Carthaginian). vakarr (Thracian) is currently in second place, having completed his fixtures with a very creditable 6 wins in his first season in the FOG2DL.

Division A has turned into a bit of a procession now after dkalenda (Palmyran) registered his seventh straight win this week. It is still mathematically possible for him to be overtaken by Nosy_Rat (Hunnic), or even ninth-placed nyczar (Ancient Briish), but it seems very unlikely that this will happen. It is more likely that Snugglebunnies (Jewish Revolt), who has finished his matches with 23 points, will still be holding on to his current second place at the end of the season. It is not yet a procession in Division B where XLegione (Arab City) has made a blistering start with 6 straight victories. paulmcneil (Ancient British) may yet pose a danger after winning his first 3 matches, but it is hard to see anyone else challenging for the promotion place. By way of complete contrast, Division C is still very much wide open. The top two, oscarius (Roman) and desertedfox (Indian) both have 4 wins but have very few matches remaining, whereas Najanaja (Roman) is probably in the best position right now with 3 wins from 4 starts. Division D is moving very slowly and MikeMarchant (Ancient British) is the current front-runner with 4 straight wins.

A very exciting situation is developing in Division A where CheAhn (Arab Conquest) still leads, but the gap is being closed by Snugglebunnies (Anglo-Saxon) and Nosy_Rat (Abbasid) with harveylh (Khorasanian) also looking very dangerous in fifth place with 4 straight wins. At the bottom MikeC_81 (Viking Ireland) has posted his first win to leave Cunningcairn (Byzantine) in the automatic relegation place. In Division B rbodleyscott (also Arab Conquest) secured his fifth win in 7 matches to extend his lead to 14 points over second-placed Geffalrus Polish), who has 2 wins from 2 starts. fikabo (Polish) moved up into third place in Division C with 2 wins this week and is now chasing front runner GDod (Arab Conquest) and second-placed oscarius (Rus) in what is developing into an exciting competition for the promotion place. In Division D Schweetness101's (Abbasid) lead has been cut to 9 points although Questar17 (Pictish) remains his greatest danger with 2 wins from 2 starts.

Bluefin (Alan) edges SawyerK (Pictish) 51-44 in a spirited match that ultimately ended in draw. I think we used every square in the battlefield as the battle continually shifted. Very fun!
