Snugglebunnies (Hannibal in Africa) has moved to the top of Division A after registering his fourth win of the season but still unbeaten Geffalrus (Antigonid) is just 2 points behind with 2 gaes in hand. Cunningcairn (Ptolemaic) and MikeC_81 (Roman) are further back but also have games in hand and may still be able to make a challenge. At the bottom MorkinTheFree (Pontic) has had a difficult start with 3 straight defeats. herm (Roman) is the new leader in Division B after his fourth straight win and his main challenger looks to be Morbio (also Roman) who has won his first 2 matches. Ulysisgrunt (Jewish) is struggling for the second season in a row with 4 straight defeats. In Division C early leader DzonVejn (Saka) has been pegged back with 2 defeats and now has a large group of players sitting behind him, all of whom have matches in hand. Schweetness101 (Hannibal in Africa) now looks odds-on favourite to win Division D after securing his seventh consecutive win this week, while GeneralKostas (Lysimachid) looks likely to end up with the wooden spoon after suffering his seventh defeat.

Weekly round-up
Snugglebunnies (Jewish Revolt) has taken over the top spot in Division A this week after posting his fifth win from 8 starts. His stay there is likely to be short-lived as dkalenda (Palmyran) has 4 games in hand after 4 straight wins. In Division B early front runner XLegione (Arab City) has continued his fine start with a fifth straight victory, but paulmcneil (Ancient British) has also started very well with 3 straight wins. Division C looks like being a very close affair. desertedfox (Indian) is the current leader with 4 wins from 6 starts but expect challenges from currently unbeaten Breogan (Germanic Foot Tribes) and MorkinTheFree (Romano-British). Division D has not really got going yet but MikeMarchant (Ancient British) has made a very good start with 3 straight wins.

oscarius (Roman) beat MorkinTheFree (Romano-British) 62 - 52

An evenly pitted head-to-head clash of quality vs quantity on a flat plain saw neither side gain a significant advantage even to the end. My investment in Armenian massed archers proved unwise due to the large unit numbers, armour and size of my foe (warbands and protected medium foot). However early success in the centre and the maneuverability of the legions allowed me to prevent the Britons from engaging in any serious flanking. A tough match that I was lucky to win considering my overly shooty army composition.

CheAhn (Arab Conquest) is still well out on his own at the top of Division A but 3 wins by Nosy_Rat (Abbasid) has taken him up into third place and back if fifth place is harveylh (Khorasanian) who has won all 3 matches so far. Both these players are in a good position now to mount a challenge for the top place. At the bottom Cunningcairn (Byzantine) is in dire straits with just 1 point from 6 matches. In Division B front runner rbodleyscott (Arab Conquest) has suffered his first defeat to second-placed Geffalrus (Polish) but everyone else is still tightly bunched together. In Division C GDod (Arab Conquest) now has 6 wins from 8 starts and has a commanding 12 point lead. It is not clear who his challengers will be but they are likely to include sunnyboy (Scots), lydianed (Ghaznavid) and fikabo (Polish). Schweetness101 (Abbasid) has a 13 point lead in Division D and has nearly built an insurmountable lead, although Questar17 (Pictish) could make a challenge after winning his first 2 matches.

Div D

SLancaster (Indo-Greek 175 BC-10 AD with Indian 500 BC- 319 AD allies) defeated GeneralKostas (Lysimachid 320-281 BC with Thracian (Hellenistic) 350-281 BC ally). 68-31.

My Indians did well and defeated the General. We are on a roll now..

1) Basically, i underestimated my opponent and did many mistakes in the battle line. Great victory for the Indo-Greek army.

2) I noticed something weird in the battle. Indian Archers with no impact capabilities attacked from rear against my pike unit (already in melee). That added +200 PoA to the archers. The result was the pikes to be disrupted, fragmented and broken in the same turn. 791/931 men withdrew from the battlefield. Not even the half men.
Why archers obtained suddenly impact capabilities?

The archers were massed archers not skirmishers.. like infantry. It was a rear charge, too.

I read only the unit detailed information and the unit card. I read no impact capabilities, no melee capabilities. I don't see the word "massed". Other armies have massed archers. So i expect those archers not to charge against other units. It is strange to me, i can't explain that.

Snugglebunnies (Thracian Getae) is currently top of Division A with 5 wins from 8 matches, but he is likely to be overtaken in due course by at least one of three players who have made strong starts - harveylh (Kyrenean Greek), sunnyboy (Lydian) and ianiow (Arab). desertedfox has also posted his third win in his first season in the top flight and that should be enough to retain his place in Division A. In Division B an exciting tussle is in prospect where Ulysisgrunt (Cypriot) has made a very strong start with 5 wins from 6. There are a number of players who could give him a good run for his money including markwatson360 (Median) and lunecastle (Assyrian).
