Shouldn't I have 4 points instead of 5? One marginal defeat and one victory?

To avoid confusion - now, after three games, one vicory and two marginal defeats I think I should have 5 points...
You should have 6 points. 4+1+1

Bloody battle, a lot of emotion and fun I received from it, probably you deserved the victory but the fate decided for another result.
Non-professionally. I find it's a good way to add extra spice to things I enjoy.........like gaming and ancient history. These matches can be crazy fun, and I feel compelled to share the twists and turns.

Fate is a fickle mistress - that much we all know. I'm smart enough to know that I should always, ALWAYS have some light cav available to deal with such things. And yet, they always get caught up elsewhere. You're very capable skirmishing saw to that.
I have to say, I ran across this league at the end of the last season and eagerly read all of the battle reports from you and others who took the time to describe the battle they fought. I loved what was essentially a massive collection of battle reports, and have attempted to put as much detail into my (alarmingly few!) reports on these threads myself.

Division D

Schweetness101 - Arab (Abbasid) 874-946 AD defeated bomber23 - Moravian 833-907 AD with German ally: 53-20

Split by a large hill in the middle, the battle ended up as an infantry clash on the right, and a mostly cavalry one on the left, while bomber took the hill. Bomber123 had a few good flanks and breaks early on, and I thought he had me for the first half of the battle, but the greater number of Arab cavalry, in tandem with massed archers and spearmen, overcame early setbacks against the Moravian/German lancers, and the Moravian lack of medium foot was a liability in some rough terrain.

There is a mistake Mike. Your army is Ancient British 60-80 AD with Roman 24-196 AD ally. You must create the game again in the lobby.

Sorry, the mistake was in the wording of the challenge. The battle was set up correctly.

Glad you've enjoyed it! :D

I think I was originally inspired by campaign reports I'd read on the forums for the Europa Barbarorum mods for Rome Total War and Medieval 2 TW. It's always a sign of a good gaming experience when people can write a good narrative of what transpired.

Division C

edb1815 (Thracian) draws with Karvon (Sarmatian) 30%-29%

The terrain with bits woods on the flanks and bits of rough terrain and trees scattered about did not favor the Sarmatian lancers. The Sarmatians won the skirmisher battle and advanced finding the Thracian center held by Antigonid allied heavy infantry and an elephant which caused some havoc. The Sarmatians then withdrew to the more open side of the field and more desultory combat occurred (Both sides trying to get at least to the 20% threshold) as night fell on the battlefield. Well played by Karvon.

Cunningcairn - Ptolemaic 55-30 BC with Roman 105-25 BC ally beat XLegione - Samnite 355-272 BC with Gallic 300-101 BC ally Won 72% to 52%

Probably the closest battle I have ever played. Both armies were completely spent and in the last few rounds both of us went to the brink of breaking and back again. I think going into the last round it was 54% to 52%. Another great contest XLegione! Thanks for the game.
