Thanks Hurly, old friend...I am actually almost done with my 43 playthrough, I am just waiting to have them posted in line with my type ups...unfortunately an Oboyan playthrough on Manstein will not be happening.
I remember the pain I felt on Field Marshall so I went the other way on Manstein...
Let's see how I do going North rather than South.

Best Round I have ever seen just awesome to watch all of their attacks against my bait that I set up did minimal damage to my auxiliary units and no damage to my core units and to see their units put in more vulnerable positions to help put me in a position to win this scenario. Strangely this was easier than Storming Stalingrad, or I played harder this time, if you can lure them out of their defensive positions into a trap that makes their unit vulnerable this helps tremendously.

I am absolutely loving all the postings on the AAR section of this great game. Love seeing everyone share there thoughts and breakdown of various scenarios. Sorry I have been unable to comment, too busy preparing for Tournament.

Manstein Stalingrad Ruins 2nd Time
First time started after 1st Round which needed to rethink distribution and execution.

Starting prestige 70676 after replacements 70475 and upgraded +1 Spotting Grenadier to Kradschutzen. 70328 and than Overstrengthening 68485.

There is nothing on youtube for this map, so I based my strategic planning on some discussions found on this forum. The plan is to try and hold onto the Italian airfield with some SE Tanks and airforce while I push North eliminating any crazy possible counter attacks then switching South and finally pushing West as I am able. This map is pretty crazy.

Here is what I brought to get this done:
Bringing in the air 3 Fighter’s inc Heinrich Bar and 2 +2 Def Fighters; Brought +2 Att/+2 Def Tac Bomber as well as +2 Def Tac Bomber; also brought +2 Def Henkel and +2 Att Henkel.
Near Italian Airfield Bringing: 2 SE Pz’s and green KV-1C and the other 3 SE’s placed elsewhere nearby.

Decisive Victory with 75293 ending Prestige

1943 will be started next and with 77293 which at the time I wroate this down thought would be the most I would ever get on this playthrough.
Much, much, much easier than Tatsanskaya but still had difficulty with that central push and found the aggressiveness of their units quite scary.
Next time will be the army imported into 1943.

Here is the Manstein Army Imported into 1943 79 Core units and 6 SE units as awarded a brand new SE Pz3J/1 (which will need to be a Tiger) 77293 prestige (only 2000 more than Field Marshall run, with 86 heroes ALREADY!!!

Decisive Victory with 72780 ending Prestige

Battle was hard at parts. I suggest you do not cross the Donets as it just wakes up their massive tank army that otherwise remains dormant like in Night Phoenix’s playthrough. I just can’t help myself as I get excited about trying to kill as many as possible.
Next will be Belgorod, which is a similar map as Kharkov with similar play style, 74780 to play with.

The attacks were strong and something not to be taken lightly, especially on this level, but this is ver y doable at this level, as long as you are patient allowing the enemy the opportunity to wear itself out on the river and to take advantage of the auxiliary units to take the pressure off your core.

Decisive Victory with 83722 ending Prestige

Tough Battle but doable, I could have done better but happy with the Decisive.
Next will be Prokhorovka, I will be going full boar Soft Cap be darned, 88722 to play with.
But before I post on that I am going to type up a side by side difference between my layout and Night Phoenix who played this battle on Rommel and still pulled it off with 100% soft cap, just incredible, my starting army was at 100% but I held back 3 units to bring out as needed and damage sustained.

(This is an incredibly difficult scenario and the layout needs to be very well thought out and approach extremely focused)

I held back 3 units to maximize starting prestige, and brought out 3 units I saw as needed to help fill out gaps in my initial layout. (Night Phoenix does not play like this instead he lays out a force that consists of units that still garner 100% Softcap)

On the Right South East portion of Rzhavets:

I had: 6th SE Tiger +2 Def; 2nd KV-1B; +1 Range StuG3B; +1 Range/+3 Attack 88; +2 Att 17cm artillery; Bruckenpioniere; +1 Movement/+1 Range Nebelwerfer; Helmut Weinsberger; Albert Kerscher in Panzer 4G; Walter Nowatny Fighter.

On the Left North West near Pselets:

That was unbelievable. Be prepared for the counter attack around Prokhorovka, that late game rush at the final Victory hexes is almost overwhelming and it can catch players unexpected and take out many experienced units that are weakened by that point destroyed and devastated. Proceed cautiously.
They had just 13 units left on the map. 1 Tank, 3 Inf, 1 Strongpoint, 3 AA’s, 2 arty’s, and 3 AT’s.
Really unbelievable playthrough with just a massive amount of tanks.

Next Dnipropetrovs’k with 95431.

3 ambushes IS-1 seized Boryspil and attacked SE Tiger -6 them; IS-1 tried going in Shevchenkove guarded by +6 Def Inf -8 them -2 me; T-90 SPAAG -8 them.

Decisive Victory with 102025 ending Prestige

This battle was nuts dealing with 3 IS-1’s being purchased every single turn towards the end and those T-90 SPAAG’s are just such a pain to deal with, but now I have over 100,000 to make all the needed repairs.
Next Army imported into 1944.
Korsun Pocket will be 1st mission in 1944 with 103025 Prestige to start with.
