There is the minor issue that the listed ranks are wrong, although the people are ranked in the right order. For instance 10th ranked Phil Powell with 80.75 is shown as 11, while 17th ranked Andy Ellis with 75.38 is shown as 10. Anybody wanting to know their actual rank will just have to count carefully. (removes shoes, socks and also those of several aides)

I think that the listed ranks may actually be the previous ranks, and the listed previous ranks are actually the previous previous ranks.

That is still the old rankings - nobby hasn't updated them yet.

That was just a cunning ploy to keep Phil out of the top 10. Most people didn't notice so I am assuming it worked ;)

Hi Mr Ruddock

Can you confirm what would decide whether a tournament is to be used for ranking purposes.

I assume this should be set by number of players but what would that be?

I used to think around 10 people but obviously Rollcall ran my period this year with only 8 in.

The reason I ask is I played in a 4 player fun tournament this weekend which we are happy not to be ranked but I am also potentially running a 6 to 8 player tournament in a couple of weeks.

It would be nice to be able to tell people if it will be ranked or not.

Thanks

Rob

Is Pete Dalby available to play in your comp (regardless of does/did/will he actually play)? If yes, then it is NOT available to be used for ranking purposes. If No, then it probably is...

If somebody sends me the results (or i find out about the tournament) then it will typically be included. The only hard rule is that it must be open to everybody (i.e. the itc is not included) and be played in the uk.

If i feel somebody is not being entirely honest i would report back to the bhgs for advisement

Yes Tim. Second against the wall in year 0. You still have time to repent.

Anyone who played in a BHGS UK (non-beta) comp gets a ranking, so that does include you this time Matteo (as I drop out).

Hi Dave

Wondering if there is a link to how the ranking (ELO?) system works.

In the pc game there is a ranking system, run by stockwellpete but maybe the tt ranking system may give him a few ideas.

Wondering if I can break into the top 30 of the tt ranks.

On a final note. Playing premier league football fantasy comp. End of Sat evening I was ranked 260ish (out of 2million+), by mid week I am 660,000ish.

That must be one of the greatest drops ever LOL

Cheers

Hi Eric

Check this thread out for how Dave's BHGS rankings work:

I'm sure you will be in the top 30 soon enough.

Not sure about period yet. Dave, Nik and I haven't decided but we are nearly there.

"6/7", I meant were there 6 or 7 Frenchmen at Britcon. I played Guillame, Olivier and Anthony

Looking at the Gunpowder and plot period. It is quite limited methinks. Not many armies can have 3 bgs of art etc

So prob be SHNC, French Ord, Ottoman and Late Hungarian (Deja Vu LOL)
