should say "any level"
Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Greetings Generals,
I don't have much news to share right now.
Work continues on the last scenarios of 1940 Part 1. The last scenarios will be presented in a "After Action Report" style, where characters are not really present. The idea is you are sitting at your headquarters "reading" over reports you have received or been shared with you. These events take place in the recent past, they are events that happened during your invasion of France.
These scenarios will by:
Malta (Air bombing)
Glorious Report (Sinking of HMS Glorious)
Operation M (Battle of the Alps - Menton)

The minimap for Glorious Report.
Then the last scenarios will be the dual ending of the campaign.
Operation R (Scharnhorst's Retreat)
Compiegne.
The testers are nearly all caught up to the end of the campaign. I will be going over the campaign with a finer tooth comb and finding more issues and making it even more presentable.
I still plan on a May or June 2025 release.

thanks!
Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Greetings General-Admirals or Admiral-Generals.
Why the such odd greeting? Well, this update reflects a big naval change that will first appear in 1940 Part 1 but predominantly feature in Part 2 and later.

Please forgive the unfinished terrain. This is not a scenario from 1940 Part 1.
There are two distinct type of aircraft: aircraft carrier based (naval) and land based.
Several new aircraft and theoretical aircraft have been added to the Germans; including 2 new carriers the Weser-class and Richthofen-class. Though the later is fictional, I felt a need to have a large German aircraft carrier. The aircraft carriers have a limited capability in aircraft they can carry. My general philosophy was number of aircraft it was designed for +10. Why 10? There is always the theoretical design then combat realities. Overstrength doesn't limit this.
The Weser can carry 3 units of aircraft. The Graf Zeppelin can carry 5. The Von Richthofen class can carry 7 (game engine's max).

Pictured above, naval aircraft can land on any airfield, including other carriers. Pictured below, land aircraft cannot land on carriers.

There will be nation specific tradeoffs to land aircraft vs naval aircraft. The American aircraft of the era were near equivalent to land-based aircraft; thus their stats will be near equal. The Japanese aircraft fall in this same naval vs land category.
The British, Germans, and Italians? Well, the British aircraft were okay but not at the same level as Americans and Japanese. Their naval aircraft along with Germany's will have worse stats than land-based equivalents. Their range will be reduced a little, with a little less attack. Naval aircraft will have an advantage though. Can't capture an airport but have a carrier? It is your naval air arm's time to shine!
Bringing us back to 1940 Part 1. This will only affect the Narvik and Glorious Reports scenario in the upcoming release.
Can't wait to see you on the sea!

Hello Generals,
I've been in the process of expanding the Norwegian campaigns maps and intensity to match that of France.
In the mean time, I'm going to share a list of 42 "new" units (not new models sadly). While the Konigsberg and BF109T were already in, I split up German cruisers and BF109T had the wrong model.

Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Hello Generals,
A brief update.
I recently expanded upon the Pioneers, offering an airborne, alpine, and marine version. All 3 versions are weaker stat-wise than their non-specialized versions; however they gain traits their non-specialized counter parts don't have. Airborne can be dropped from planes. Alpine gain mountain bonuses. Marines have river assault bonus.
In other news,
Estimated release for 1940 part 1 Redux is May 10th to June 22nd, 2025.

Hello Generals,
I've been doing some brief video updates located on YouTube.
They have mostly been more in-depth previews of the upcoming maps. Here is a preview of an upcoming feature for the entire mod:

Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Does the new Elite Reinforcements mechanic have a strong impact on the gameplay? Do I have to replay the entire campaign to fully experience it or can I just load up the core from 1939?
Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
You will not have to start over, you will be able to import.
Right now I've been play testing through myself on elite reinforcements and it is a struggle early on but a fun one.

Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
just checking to see if the 40 has been released? think you said you were taking a vacation, then it would be released? just to clarify, I don't have to replay SCW and 1939 in the interim? can't wait and most of all thanks for your efforts and finished products. I'm retired 70 year old who finds immense pleasure in PC2 and all the new scenarios, Mods, etc. keeps the mind going! my. My father was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge and his older brother was a fighter pilot with 3 kills in the Italian Theater. unfortunately, he was KIA in the Korean War by AA fire flying a Corsair on a strafing mission He's buried in Arlington. He was scheduled to begin Jet Fighter Training in another month.

1940 Part 1 will more likely be in June.
Hopefully this weekend, SCW + 1939 with Recon and Elite replacements will be available.

Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
one other thing, when you introduce/insert the Elites into the 1939 Infantry Pool, will they become available when you are in the middle of the campaign?
Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
They should not become available until the start of a new campaign.
