A mass of Breton light spear cavalry was able to sufficiently disrupt the Arab line to get flank attacks on first the Arab cavalry and then the infantry, despite the rough, hilly battlefield.

principesromanes Sumarians defeat nyczar's Elamites 77 to 34.

Bad things happen quickly when a chariot can get loose on the flank of a bunch of already disrupted and fragged mass archers and spearmen. It was a much closer game than the final score shows!

Older November results from two very very close battles. Sorry we both seem to have missed posting.
One victory each and both close.

Triarii (Dialami) defeats Random27 (Armenian) 51-63
And
Random27 (Dialami) defeats Triarii (Armenian) 55-60

In the first game several Armenian rallies turned a desperate Armenian situation into a very close battle where Armenian archers cleverly moved to a high hill were shooting the Dialami to MI to destruction as they tried to hunt down rallied Armenians.

In the second game the final turn became nail biting as Dialami cavalry just avoided auto-breaking due to casualties and Elephants rallied from broken while fragmented Armenian foot were picked off to reach the 60. Incredibly close and two epic games.

The excellent HOML is nearing it's end, until the next one, probably early April

The great news is that The Divisional Championships has started recruiting and will begin 7th January.

Which means, you can jump straight into another tournament.

Scrolling down, you can see the "entries topics" and the rules.

So far Bronze and Iron Age has 19 players, Classical 27, Imperial 20, Dark Ages 20, Early Medieval 22 and Late Medieval 20.

Final date for entries is 2nd January.

AKvGoeben (Mycenaean 1250-1180 BC) defeats DirtyMark (Hittite 1275-1180BC) 47-61.

Another absolute mess of a battle. Initial Hittite assault on the centre-left of the Mycenaean army was making good progress but the mass chariot wing on the Mycenaean right were eventually able to get involved, no thanks to a small lake, and help turn the tide against the Hittites.

Great battle, and GGWP to DirtyMark!

PrincipesRomanes Elamites defeat nycazar's Sumerians 62-49

A very close fight, with the question being whether the Elamite archers would hold out long enough for their army to win on the other flank. In the end they did by getting lucky - not only did they avoid serious chain routes, a fragmented archer bravely held out enough to give me the "Lucky" achievement. The ditches also saved the remnants of the archers from autodrops from being flanked.
