The game suffered from a bugged heavy artillery which eventually caused the game to crash when it got charged. Thanks to Blagrot a very gracious opponent and Tyronec for the adjudication.

Div C - Holien vs Lunecastle

Holien 81 Points Lysimachid 320-281 BC 39% Defeated Thracian 65% - Lunecastle 39 Points

The Pike Blocks Held and managed to stay pretty much unflanked and the elephant got involved and helped seal the deal. Played over a different part of the map than the other game. A key point when a Pike Block double dropped to Fragg'd but with help of nearby allies managed to not collapse and was brought back into the fray with some stiff words from the nearby commander. The CinC and another general decided to die while fighting but luckily these deaths did not affect the fighting spirit of the troops too badly.


Holien 92 Points Thracian 28% Defeated Lysimachid 320-281 BC 55% - Lunecastle 28 Points

This battle saw the Thracians lunge to the left and caused the pike blocks to scatter while trying to fend off the attack. As they rgained control the Thracians moved to the right and used a strip of rough ground to isolate a couple of pike blocks that fell as their flanks were exposed. The Lysiachid elephant had been chasing the right flank cav and joined too late and was fatally damaged after leving it's flank hanging to some peltasts who double dropped it. At the end several pike blocks hunkered down in square as the numerous weaker Thracians circled the squares like vultures waiting for their prey to open up...

As ever an enjoyable set of games with Lunecastle who is a gent and decent chap, if a bit older than the last time I saw him...

Captain Savage Fighting as the Persians defeated Morbio fighting as the Spartans. 55:23

The sky was dark with arrows! The cavalry was superb and brave. The Immortals lived up to their name and took on anybody they could reach. Great game in which I was most favoured by lady luck. The Spartans will not leave a monument behind after this one.
