Grr... that breaks posting to the forum for some reason. The log messages actually have:

nobody @ slitherine1.dx.net

without the spaces everywhere it says 'nobody' in my previous. Also

helo = <slitherine1>

Nothing here, @pelican.org. I suspect the reason is that you're sending from a domain that doesn't exist. My mail server is rejecting this as invalid, and I'm sure many others are: zimbra.log.2.gz:Apr 6 02:13:41 jennyfur postfix/smtpd[4375]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[66.216.1.198]: 450 4.1....

I'm fairly sure it uses the servertime, which is EST (or GMT-5). Makes sense when you think about it. If all games used the local time for every player no matter what timezone, you'd have turns getting played 5 hours before the opponent sent his turn. I see exactly the same thing. My clock is set correctly to GMT, and all the timestamps on my multiplayer games are five hours behind.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a gamer first and foremost (by way of board games, RPGs, CDGs, fantasy / sci-fi wargaming, ...), and that picking up nuggets of history as I go along is a nice bonus rather than a necessity for me. I suspect I'm in the minority, but it works for me.

Ah, understood. I'm also in the UK, and the Litko ones weren't that expensive to import, if that helps - it's a very small, light package, and low-value enough not to bother customs.
