I just downloaded CoW onto my laptop and I am having problems getting it to run

After looking on the forum I saw the post about it needing a min screen res of 1024 x 768 (bu***er)

no problem I will simply install it on my main PC ... BUT it won't run because it has been installed on my laptop ...
