Re: Series Replay: rbeyma vs gregorit
Dietrich's Headquarters, 1600 hours on the 16th. Model asks Dietrich to brief him on the operations for the day. "The initial stages of the assault have succeeded, though we have taken significant losses on 3 of our divisions, 2 of them elite panzer formations. Our panzer columns are still back...

Wacht Am Rhein: T-1 hour Dawn has yet to break. Colonel Peiper is finishing his staff meeting: "Our infantry has already crossed into enemy lines and has had great success. The tight road network is proving troublesome for our armored columns but we will soon be upon the enemy. American armored...

Re: Series Replay: rbeyma vs gregorit
Gaming Bio: I can't remember a time when I wasn't a gamer, and a strategy gamer first and foremost. Traditional war games at first, then Real time and Turn based strategy on the computer. Growing up wargames were constantly being designed and playtested in my midst, and the mechanics and strategy o...

Armchair Field Marshals rejoice! The press corps is set to report in on Wacht Am Rhein. Commentary available from the front. Re: Idea for a better Game Center experience
Yes, I have at least 3 times ended up accidentally making a bad attack from an area that I wanted to move someone out of, a warning would be great. I understand it may be a pain to code, but providing that warning would take down a potential threat to a new player who isn't aware of how it works and...

Re: what to do against a German defensive line strategy?
If I'm playing the Germans and I manage to get all 6 VPs worth, Verviers, Spa, St Vith, and Bastogne of course I'm going into a defensive posture as it will become the Allies' job to make something happen or I will win on VPs. I think the key is to hold to Germans to at most 4 VPs a day while not le...

Re: Re. Update
The game will not be everyone's cup of tea, that is understandable. I think if you are seeking an immersive totally customizable single player experience then perhaps this game is not for you. I think the strength of this game lies in its multiplayer matchmaking and accessibility. A game with such h...

Re: Fantastic Bulge Strategy Article
Great Job! A lot of newer Allied players probably get turned off from making a couple of mistakes early on and get discouraged. Hopefully enough of those will read your article and learn some damage control so they can enjoy the later parts of the game.

Re: Play balance
This may be a personal preference as much as anything, but I think too many options switches would divide the community into factions of who plays what options. The beauty of this game is in its accessibility and simplicity. A few options that change and its a different game. And while I as an indiv...

Re: Play balance
I think one opportunity the game has when its gets a revision is to fix the mindset of the players. For me at least, most games I play as the Germans I'm thinking, let me make sure I don't lose because I should be able to get the VPs and coast to victory with good defensive positions. My mindset wit...

Re: Play balance
@nkarp:
Yes a bidding system would be great! Its really easy to bid VPs and starting the Germans at -3 or -4 would help balance the game significantly. I feel like I can win almost all the time as the Germans but its tough as the Americans. Maybe my American play just needs some help.

Play balance
I wanted to get a quick idea of how people feel about play balance in the game, and if one side has the advantage, how the situation can be addressed. Personally, I feel like the Germans have an advantage among experienced players, especially with the viability of winning a long term game by killing...

Re: Cry Me A (Meuse)River
La Roche Corridor After 20-30 games under my belt I think I've noticed a pattern that will help fledgling Field Marshals. Too often I see panzer stacks bash into Bastogne or up to the Meuse in the North and are easily contained afterwards by the Allies. The Germans need to use their panzers to threa...

Re: Multiplayer: Chat during game
Community building is a win win situation for a game like this. More players get involved, they develop friendships with their opponents, you get to talk about the game. Also its a very effective marketing tool so that when the next game comes out, everyone will buy it. There needs to be chat in gam...
