Re: locate strab misison help
When I played the mission, I split my titans into two groups and sent one south-ish and one north-ish to clear out all the victory hexes. The last victory hex I cleared out was the one in the north eastern corner, and Von Strab appeared once I started firing upon the units there.

Re: locate strab misison help
I recommend using 15+ titans, and you can breeze over this mission.

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
Yes.
I had 17-18 titans at the end of the campaign. 18 of any unit is a huge amount, but the strongest unit in the game. Only another 18 Titans can stand against that.

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
I have now finished the campaign, and there is still absolutely no reason to buy anything else than titans other than something to capture victory hexes.
I can now say that, since Act2, the steel legion under my command have suffered a total of 0 casualties in this war for Armageddon.

Re: Armor Piercing Logic?
I have never seen any hard canon as to what the dimension and performance of the Warhammer 40,000 weapons is. If the heavy bolter does indeed use a larger caliber, that would not automatically mean better penetration. Eg. a musket fire some crazy large balls compared to modern firearms. But the mode...

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
Ever since I got access to Titans, I have been running as many titans as possible, and they have been rolling over every mission with ease. I am at mission 25 now I think, counting from Act1 mission1. The first mission where you get access to the Salamander chapter That sounds fine to me, if that i...

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
When I have finished the campaign, I will most likely do another no-titan run, but I will feel weird about purposefully using worse tactical options than what is available to me. You say tactically worse, but trust me once you get the hang of the game and really master the subtleties and mechanics ...

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
Because 100% of ork units are all Gargants. :P Funny enough, there are some pretty amazing space marine infantry who are especially good at countering heavy ork artillery. You'd be surprised how well an assault unit does when it can actually get under the minimum range of Lobba equipped units! :) I...

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
Titan trying to clear out Ork infantry... this Titan costs well over 1k points and would need at least 4 if not more combat actions to destroy this one Ork infantry unit. http://i.imgur.com/B5DYaZ4.jpg This Terminator squad can potentially clear them out in a single combat action at a fraction of t...

My units have fairly high experience, they seem to work quite will.

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
I know this is not a 100 million dollar game, but an Ipad game. it's a pc game! if it comes out on the ipad thats all fair and well, but as it was designed for the pc, it works for the pc, and tbh works very well, so isn't a port, isn't a clone and isn't a ipad low cost version either or any thing ...

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
Having played some more, I begin to feel like balancing just totally and utterly falls apart in Act 2. It's ridiculous. Pricing titans out of the game would require them to at least triple in price, and even then ... like the later soviet DLCs for PzC, the scenarios appear to be balanced around the...

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
I don't feel that the titans themselves is the problem, but more that a lot of the other units feel underpowered and when you start to spend resources on reinforcing your whole army (which titans do not need), it starts to costs a great deal more than titans, is often slower, have less firepower and...

Re: Difficulty curve and unit tactical value trouble.
Hello. First, I am happy I am not the one that have to balance this game. The campaign from the start of act1 have a very good difficulty curve on normal difficulty, in my opinion. I think it was when the campaign moved into act2 trouble came along. You now have access to a lot of imperial guard un...

Re: Vague mission objectives and unit descriptions trouble.
Ahh I see, the Bombers are supposed to be suicide bombers, that is neat. I finally managed to beat this mission. I love that the game on normal setting have some difficulty. To beat this mission, avoid go going north, but instead go into the opening that is above the bridge at the very bottom. And f...

Re: Vague mission objectives and unit descriptions trouble.
Okay thanks, so my assumption was right. But I did not get the victory trigger when I killed all the Special Marking artillery pieces. I will try and give it a couple of tries more : ) Also, the special Bombers unit you get, what is the purpose of those? Vehicles move so much faster than the Bombers...

Vague mission objectives and unit descriptions trouble.
Hello. I am currently playing Act1 in the campaign. I have arrived at a mission where the objective is "Destroy all Ork AUXILIARY artillery units. Scenario Hint: Look for these artillery units near Victory Hex Locations" So I go to all the Victory Hex Locations (Managed this one lucky time...
