I find generals pretty ineffective - most of them are 1-1 and maybe have some special traits. But most enemy stacks are lead by similar generals too, so it does not make a big difference. While units gain experience generals seem to stau unchanged, even if they win 20 big battles in a row.

In a besieged city I have to stacks of units which I would like to merge. I click on the stack without the general, make sure that all units are highlighted and click on merge. Then I tried left clicking on the tab of the stack with general - nothing happens. Then I try with a right click, again not...

I am in 43 and have three Russian guard units on the map (from the Siberian reinforcements). I should be able to have 9, but the "Elite" button is always grayed out. Is there a trick I don't know of?

Usually 1 turn per day, more on weekend. But I am also traveling quite a bit, which might mean that I won't be able to send a turn for days.

Just installed 2.0. In the AAR's I can see people use newer version, but I cannot find where to get the patches.

I am happy to accept your challenge. But since I travel for business from time to time, there might be longer interruptions between turns. As long as I am at home I can churn out at least one turn per day, more on the weekend...
