Re: Weekly Spotlight: Sirucil

Like Rhuobhe's realm in Birthright. Love it! Hmm, why don't elves have any forts? They need not be stone forts, wood and mountains could help out, at least towards some level? I agree, even though the computer game BR never really worked properly for me I loved all the detail in it. Edited to add A...

Re: How does VC affect H&M exactly?

Remember you can't lay an ambush within 1 hex of a village, this and the fact that troops stationed in a village don't stop VC infiltration is to prevent the player simply placing one unit in every village and then game over ! Yes but maintaining a presence via minesweeping seems to make a ...

Re: How does VC affect H&M exactly?

VC units can engage in one of a few kinds of missions when created. One of those has them enter a village and directly lower its score by some value between 5-10. You will need to prevent them from entering the villages in order to stop this. AH HA! I thought that was what was happening. I need to ...

Re: Terrain makes the difference - a clear victory AAR

I agree with the, is the scale simply too much via the time you have to actually do what you want. My last game I had a nice map with the northern part pretty much connected by a road, my starting base was in the SE corner of the map, I could have built a road and cleared some jungle to link the fir...

Re: First impressions

The mortar team is a fantastic idea. In fact I believe the reason the Australians got into the battle of Long Tan was because they were hunting a VC mortar unit. A fantastic documentary as well. Can be viewed on youtube and is really one of the best films ive seen about real life events in Vietnam. ...

Re: Cobra

In earlier versions of the model the cobra did in fact have a detection range, but became too powerful and the game became a few cobra's roaming the jungle and we would have to change the name to Gunship'65 8) LOL well anyway just a thought. Points are tough at the start and to win hearts and minds...

Re: Terrain makes the difference - a clear victory AAR

How do you best handle supply? Someone on Steam was complaining about all the supply runs the Hueys constantly need to make. (Kong just posted something I see) Make your second firebase the center of gravity. Make sure it is in a location to cover the area you suspect is the axis of the enemy activ...

Re: Future NVA player controlled side

Anyway one can only hope. For this type for game all you need is a randomly generated map ability that models a state, with a capitol, states or provinces with their own district capitols, and a standing army fighting the rebels. Rebels generate a random base in some remote location and have to expa...

Re: Cobra

The unit is in effect a abstraction of a gunship unit. They DID actually go out and troll for enemy action. I suggest the unit get a one to detection as a result. From a balancing perspective, the Cobra is already a very powerfull unit. I see your point, but I'm not sure if this would not unbalance...

Re: Future NVA player controlled side

Opart didn't capture the conflict well. I played the mod/scenarios for the vietnam game and opart just cant model it well. It dosnt work. SP MBT has scenarios, not a viable campaign for this type of conflict. I designed scenarios for SP and I believe it was for MBT regarding SCENARIOS in Vietnam, a ...

Re: Future NVA player controlled side

Will this game in future let you play as the NVA/Vietcong. i know its early but curious if a future update would make this possible. thanks. Love to see that as well. There are no games out there AFAIK that really model the other side of these types of conflicts. I would love to see a game that all...
